Coroner's Report: Whitney Houston Found Face Down In Tub

Coroner’s Report: Whitney Houston Found Face Down In Tub

The Los Angeles County Coroner released the final coroner’s report for Whitney Houston on Wednesday. The singer died on Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hills Hilton, one day before the Grammy Awards. The official cause of death was accidental drowning and “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.”

The document gives a detailed description of the scene inside her room at the hotel and details of the investigation.

According to the report, Houston’s assistant suggested the star take a bath to prepare for the pre-Grammys activities occurring that evening. The assistant then left to pick up items at Neiman Marcus, and when she returned, she found Houston, 48, face down and unresponsive in the bathtub. The assistant and a bodyguard pulled the singer out of the tub.

The detective on the scene noted that Houston had “possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications, and alcohol.” Prescription medications found at the scene included Xanax, amoxicillin, Prednisone and antibiotics. An open bottle of champagne was also in the room.

The coroner’s report indicated that there were multiple items on the bathroom counter, including: an ashtray filled with multiple cigarette butts, a small spoon with a white crystal like substance in it, a rolled up piece of white paper and a bottle of prescription medications. In one of the counter drawers, detectives found “remnants of a white powdery substance, and a portable mirror on the base.”

Antoine Walker Lives On Less Than $25k, Evelyn Lozada Sued For Owed Money

Antoine Walker Lives On Less Than $25k, Evelyn Lozada Sued For Owed Money

A federal judge has discharged a $12.7-million bankruptcy case that was filed by former NBA star baller Antoine Walker.

At the time of the filing in 2010, Walker had a net worth of $4.3 million despite making more than $110 million throughout his professional NBA career.

Reportedly, Walker blew his monies on bad investments, gambling, family hand-outs, and other pricey personal indulgences.

The bankruptcy trustee believes that Walker gave his ex-fiancee, ‘Basketball Wives’ star, Evelyn Lozada $560,000 after filing with the courts and is suing Lozada, because the trustee insists that Walker tried to hide the money from his credit collectors by giving it to her.

The trustee is also claiming that Lozada took the money from Walker and used it to open her Miami boutique Dulce. Now the trustee is determined to get the money back.  Walker insists he gave his ex the money so that she could square away some bills, while Lozada is sticking to her story that she sold her engagement ring to open Dulce. Lozada also claims that she was oblivious to the fact that Walker was so knee-deep in debt.

Earth, Wind & Fire’s Maurice White Accused Of Cheating Dead Producer

Earth, Wind & Fire’s Maurice White Accused Of Cheating Dead Producer

Famed R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire’s founding member Maurice White has been accused of neglecting to pay Charles Stepney, who produced some of his greatest hits.

The only problem is that Stepney has been deceased for 36 years, so his children are suing White for royalties they claim their dad never received.

Stepney was responsible for classics as Shining Star, Devotion, Sing a Song and Mighty, Mighty. The producer was also an arranger, songwriter and musician who achieved stellar success in all four areas during the sixties and seventies. He worked with Ramsey Lewis, Chaka Khan, The Dells and The Emotions. Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Terry Callier have made it known that they were heavily influenced by Stepney’s talents.

One of Earth, Wind & Fire’s greatest songs, “Spirit,” was a tribute to Stepney. The producer, however, never got a chance to even hear the song of gratitude that the group had dedicated to him. Stepney died of a heart attack on May 17, 1976 at 45-years-young.
