The Bay Area Brotherhood held its 38th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Banquet at the DoubleTree Hotel. The guest speaker was Jerome Ryans, CEO/President of the Tampa Housing Authority. In addition to enjoying a soul food meal and entertainment, one of the events of the evening was the presentation of awards. Awards were presented to Woodley St. Juste, Alicia Culpepper, President of the National Association of Black Accountants, Tampa Chapter; Calvin Doss for 25 years of service; and Major Thallus Lumpkin, MacDill Air Force Base, National Assoc. of Black Accountants. Military awards were presented to Hazel Rivers, President, Bay Area Brotherhood; Arnold Mathews, 25 years of service; Armelia Kyle and Ricky Reynolds, NFL Alumni Players Assoc., Civilian Award.
