Store Manager To Host Com- munity Clinic

On Monday, June 27th, Rafael Lee, Manager of Walgreen’s at N. 56th Street and E. Busch Blvd., is inviting the community to visit his store. Those who stop by between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., can take advantage of free testing for various illnesses.

The event is being held in recognition of National HIV Testing Day and in partnership with Tampa Bay Community Events. Lee said those who visit the store can obtain tests for HIV, STIs, pregnancy, A1C (for diabetes), blood pressure, and glucose.[private]

“We are trying to make the community aware that we are here to service their needs. It’s all about being well. Our motto is ‘Live Well, Stay Well.’

“Our community is our no. 1 focus and our goal is to educate the community about their health care needs,” he said.

A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Lee enrolled at the University of Tampa in 1997 and earned his B. S. Degree in Psychology. He continued his education at the University of South Florida, where he received his Master’s Degree in Family Counseling. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Family Counseling.

While searching for employment, he submitted an application to Walgreens for an Internship in 1999. He was offered an Assistant Manager position and has remained with the company since that time.

Lee has worked at several stores through the bay area and was promoted to Manager in 2001. He became the manager of his current store in 2003.

Having been with the company for more than 10 years, Lee said he plans on seeking a career. “It’s a good company. I take care of them and they take care of me,” he said.[/private]
