QUEEN R. MILLER SUITE DEDICATED DURING CEREMONY FOR LEE DAVIS CENTER
The ribbon cutting and re-dedication of the newly renovated Lee Davis Community Resource Center was held on Monday, October, 2, 2017. The $2.8 million renovation project began in March 2016 and was completed this summer. The Center houses several County department services and programs, including Aging Services, Health Care Services, Head Start, Library Services, and Social Services. Additionally, there will be two on-site community partners: Derrick Brooks Charities and the Sickle Cell Association of Hillsborough County. The Queen R. Miller Suite on the second floor was also dedicated during this ceremony. While chair of the Lee Davis Health Consumer Council in the 1970s, Ms. Queen Richardson Miller’s advocacy and work with local government and members of the business community led to the creation of the Lee Davis Community Resource Center. The Suite will be a space for community members to gather and hold meetings. Family members who joined Mrs. Miller, center, for the dedication: Teka Wilson, D. J. Lloyd Milton, Carla Miller Gant, Yolanda Miller Trigg, Walter Lee Miller, Stanley Puilins and Mary Jones. (Photograph by Frederick Harris, Sr.)
