Tyler Perry is continuing to aid those in need with his philanthropy, this time by buying a new home for a woman that lost everything in a fire.
Perry handed the keys to a new home to 88-year-old Rosa Lee Ransby of Newnan, Georgia who lives with her seven grand- and great-grandchildren.
Ransby first captured the filmmaker’s attention in December after he heard that she lost her home in a fire just a week before Christmas.
On Friday, Ransby and more than 20 members of her family members met with Perry at the five-bedroom, 2,500-square-foot home where they were treated to a tour. Movers later arrived with the family’s new furniture.
Perry told reporters that sharing that moment with Mrs. Ransby’s family was “incredible” and made him think about his own mother, who passed in 2009.
