Trial Begins For Reggae Star

The second trial for Grammy award winning singer, Buju Banton, began Monday in Tampa as he faces drug and weapons charges.

Banton (real name Mark Myrie) was tried five months ago on federal drug trafficking charges. That trial ended with a hung jury.

Government officials allege Banton conspired with associates to buy a shipment of cocaine from an undercover officer. The two other men pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with investigators.

Banton, 37, was arrested in December 2009 at his home in Miami.
