Girlfriend Of Man Accused Of Killing Son Charged

After a thorough investigation, Tampa Police have charged a second person in the death of Ronderique Anderson.

Ronderique, 16-months-old, died days after his father, Dwayne Poole, allegedly threw him onto a bed causing his head to strike a wall or dresser, then striking the boy with his hand and a belt. Ronderique was hospitalized and determined to be brain dead until his life support was removed and he was pronounced dead February 5th.

According to police, detectives determined Poole’s girlfriend, Tonya Myers, knew of the abuse. While interviewing Myers regarding Ronderique’s swollen jaw and missing teeth, police said she admitted knowing Poole had knocked out the toddler’s teeth. She also reportedly told police Ronderique had suffered continued abuse at the hands of Poole.

Police said Myers failed to protect Ronderique from the beating and seek medical attention for his injuries. She was arrested Thursday and jailed on a charge of aggravated child abuse.
