Close to 100 family members, former co-workers, community leaders and friends of Ms. Theresa A. Manuel gathered on January 8th at La Union Marti-Maceo in Ybor City to help the U. S. Olympic legend celebrate her 85th birthday. The event was planned and coordinated by Ms. Manuel’s cousin, Cynthia J. Flowers (Sweeting). Alphonso Ball, Jr., a former Middleton student, was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
