29TH STREET REVITALIZATION PROJECT RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY HELD

The East Tampa Action Group, (ETAG), held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to showcase the N. 29th Street Revitalization Project on August 15th.  The ceremony took place at the HOPE Center, N. 29th Street and E. Lake Avenue. The ceremony was to commemorate the taking back of the area once littered with broken glass, used syringes, and all types of debris. The project was successful because of the dedication and partnership between city government and citizens of East Tampa. Among those in attendance at the ceremony were from left to right: Ms. Mellita Mills, Co-Chairperson of the East Tampa Action Group; Mrs. Chloe Coney, founder of the Corporation to Develop Communities, Inc., who led the marches to clean up the area; Pastor Daniel Dean, Ms. Nikki-India Ross, of Moffitt Healthy Kidz; and Ms. Tonya Lewis, founder of Children With A Vision, Inc.
