Tampa Police have reported that at 6:31 a. m. Thursday, a man was killed attempting to cross Adamo Drive and 50th Street.
Police said Charles Bilal, 44, was walking across Adamo Drive at 50th Street when he was hit by a red Ford Ranger truck.
Police said the truck had the right of way, and because Bilal was wearing dark clothing, the driver did not see him crossing the road.
The driver pulled over after the accident and Bilal was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say no criminal charges are expected in the accident.
Traffic at that intersection was heavier than usual, due to repairs being made at the railroad crossing just east of 50th Street on Adamo Drive.
Abdul Bilal, Charleās father, said his son was apparently on his way to work when the accident occurred.
