Recently, members of the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners honored retired educator Dr. Walter L. Smith, during its regular board meeting. The Commendation recognized the accomplishments and contributions Dr. Smith has made during his lifetime, locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally. He is the former president of Florida A & M University. Dr. Walter and Mrs. Barbara Smith are shown with Hillsborough County Commissioners after the presentation.
