An interesting war of words has been brewing between veteran entertainer Harry Belafonte and Jay Z. Looking to diffuse the situation, Belafonte has asked for a private chat with Jay and his wife, Beyoncé, in order mend the rift.
The feud was sparked after Belafonte said in 2012 that high-profile stars such as Jay Z have “turned their back on social responsibility.” In a recent interview with Elliott Wilson, Jay Z took offense to Belafonte’s words, responding that his “presence is charity.” Hov also took digs at Belafonte in a few lines from the track “Nickels and Dimes” off his latest album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
