Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams has been a consistent contri-butor over the past three seasons, and on Wednesday the team rewarded him with a five-year extension through the 2018 season, according to the Bucs’ Twitter account.

Since Williams was already under contract for the upcoming season, the signing ensures that he will be a Buc for the next six seasons barring a trade or release. Williams’ six-year deal is worth a total of $40.25 million, although it’s unclear how much of that is guaranteed.

After a subpar 2011 campaign, Williams bounced back in a big way last season. With Vincent Jackson pulling attention away from him, Williams got back to his rookie form as he reeled in 63 passes for 996 yards and nine touchdowns.
