MIDDLETON HIGH CLASS OF 1972 AND 1973 HAVE 40th-YEAR REUNION

With the onset of desegregation at the beginning of the 1971-72 school year in the Hillsborough County School District, those students who would have graduated as Tigers from Middleton High School in 1972 and 1973 were denied that opportunity. The students were displaced throughout the county, but they maintained a friendship. The weekend of July 20-22, 2012, about 60 of the former students, many from out of town, gathered at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Sabal Park for their 40th-year reunion. There was a Meet and Greet on Friday, Games and Activities and Banquet on Saturday and Worship at New Hope on Sunday. Among those who assisted with details of the weekend included from left: Lionel Woodall, Cynthia Myles, Barbara Shazer, Belinda Roberts, Doretha Edgecomb (Banquet speaker), Albertine Parker, Carolyn Harris Jackson and Ronald Peterson.
