DEPUTY TIMOTHY WHITE

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office shares with profound sadness and heavy hearts that a deputy took his own life Thursday in Tampa.

On August 29, 2024, at 5:28 p.m., a family member of Deputy Timothy White, 45, found him deceased in a vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The vehicle was located at the Tampa Fire Rescue Headquarters.

Deputy White worked with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years, most recently serving at the Hillsborough County Courthouse.

According to published reports, he served as a medical assistant in the U. S. Army.

“I am devastated to learn that one of our own was suffering in silence,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said.

“The entire Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office grieves with Deputy White’s loved ones. To anyone in crisis, please know you are not alone; help is available.”

If you or someone you know is in a crisis, help is just a phone call away, call the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay at 211.

“We would like to thank the men and women of Tampa Police Department for their support during this difficult time.”
