CHERIE CARTER

The Pinellas Park Police Department arrested Cherie Carter for a
scheme to defraud from an investigation beginning in March 2024.  It was
reported that Carter had been paying herself additional funds during
her time as the sole executor of the payroll for Bay Area Orthopedic  Specialist.  Carter had been employed with the company for several
years, but it was discovered that in October 2022, she began paying herself
thousands more per pay period.
Throughout this scheme, Carter paid herself $138,800.  Additionally,
approximately $70,000 of cash deposits were unaccounted for during the same period.  These funds were utilized for Carter’s personal gain, living a
lavish lifestyle.

Detectives arrested Cherie Carter on last Wednesday morning and transported her to
the Pinellas County Jail.
