Tampa Baseball Star Invited To MLB Combine

NOAH SHEFFIELD

Jesuit High School graduating senior, Noah Sheffield has a lot to celebrate.

The baseball star is graduating next week from high school, has committed to play at Florida State University, his HS team won the 5A State baseball championship, and he was one of the few HS baseball players in the country invited to the Major League Baseball (MLB) Combine.

Noah, 17, plays shortstop.   He is the middle son of former baseball star Gary and DeLeon Sheffield.

Last Saturday the Jesuit Tigers won the 5A State baseball championship, 5-2 against the American Heritage school team they lost to last year. Sheffield was key in the Tigers’ win.

The MLB Combine is invitation only. Players are selected by a committee of MLB, USA Baseball and MLB Club scouting executives, incorporating feedback from all 30 MLB Clubs. Selected players were invited this spring. Three days after he celebrates his 18th birthday, he will be off to show his skills at the combine on June 18-21.

Noah will then join his teammates at FSU after making a verbal commitment early on.
