On Saturday, November 19th, the Hillsborough County Branch of the NAACP will host its first “Business Tax Boot Camp 101.” It will take place at the NAACP Branch Office, 308 E. Dr. M. L. King, Jr., Blvd., Suite “C,” from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The purpose of the event is to help small businesses prepare for the upcoming 2012 income tax season. Ms. Sharon Niblack, Empowerment Center Manager and Facilitator, said, “This is the first time we have hosted this event. It’s a workshop for business to get ready for 2012.

“We hope to get vendors and entrepreneurs from the entire county to attend the workshop to ask questions and get their taxes prepared. We are telling them to get their receipts out of the bag and into the book.”

Ms. Niblack said this new initiative will help them to become prepared so that they can submit applications for loans, grants, and other financial opportunities.

A certified public accountant will be in attendance to answer questions from the business community. She further stated that the workshop is free and open to the public.

She further stated that seating is limited and suggest that those planning to attend RSVP early.

For additional information, contact Ms. Niblack at (813) 234-8683, or by email at thee308@yahoo.com.
