Members of the Howard W. Blake Senior High School Class of 1970 celebrated their 40th reunion October 7-10, 2011. The Embassy Suites Westshore Blvd. was the headquarters for several of the activities. The veterans in that class were recognized by a patriotic tribute presented by Deborah D. Larry, who expressed gratitude for their service to this country.  The veterans introduced themselves by announcing their rank, name and branch of military served. The veterans recognized were from left: Silas Fisher, James Hardwick, Johnny Arline, Earl Conage, Theodore (Teddy) Ricks, Gloria Pilcher Shaw, Ira Cruse, Peter Smith, Jerry Taylor, James Jennings and Jonas Harris.
