Tyler Perry Buys New Home For 88-Year-Old Fire Victim

Tyler Perry Buys New Home For 88-Year-Old Fire Victim

Tyler Perry is continuing to aid those in need with his philanthropy, this time by buying a new home for a woman that lost everything in a fire.

Perry handed the keys to a new home to 88-year-old Rosa Lee Ransby of Newnan, Georgia who lives with her seven grand- and great-grandchildren.

Ransby first captured the filmmaker’s attention in December after he heard that she lost her home in a fire just a week before Christmas.

On Friday, Ransby and more than 20 members of her family members met with Perry at the five-bedroom, 2,500-square-foot home where they were treated to a tour. Movers later arrived with the family’s new furniture.

Perry told reporters that sharing that moment with Mrs. Ransby’s family was “incredible” and made him think about his own mother, who passed in 2009.

The Los Angeles Times reports.

Just a few days ago it was reported that the FBI released documents exposing an LAPD cover up of the shooting of Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace.

The reports included belief that gang members affiliated with the police force aided the shooters escape and that he was killed with rare ammunition found in another investigation that was never brought up.

‘Let’s Stay Together’ Added To National Recording Registry

There are probably a lot of people walking the earth who were conceived to it — and now Al Green’s song “Let’s Stay Together” is getting another bit of recognition. It’s among the 25 songs that will be added this year to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress.

The library describes Green’s sound as one that features a “sleek delivery” and “an understated delivery with occasional climbs to a casual, pure falsetto.” Or as they used to call it back in the day, baby-making music.

Will And Jaden Smith To Co-Star In M. Night Shyamalan Sci-Fi Flick

Will Smith and Jaden Smith have signed on to co-star in M. Night Shyamalan’s untitled science fiction adventure film with Columbia Pictures, the studio announced.

The film will take place 1,000-years in the future and follow a young boy (Jaden) as he searches the abandoned planet Earth, looking for his estranged father (Will) after their ship crashes.

Shyamalan wrote the script with Gary Whitta (“Book of Eli”) which was previously announced as being named “One Thousand A.E.,” though details on the project have been kept tight.

“The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project,” Shyamalan said in a statement.

Shymalan and Will Smith will also produce the film with James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith and Ken Stovitz, who are Smith’s partners at Overbrook Entertainment.

Jaden, 12, made his screen debut with his father Will Smith in 2006’s “The Pursuit of Happyness.” He has since starred in the blockbuster remake of “The Karate Kid,” which took in over $350 million worldwide. Jaden also starred opposite Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly in “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”

Master P And Romeo Donate Computers To L.A. Middle School

Master P And Romeo Donate Computers To L.A. Middle School

In an effort to follow in his father’s footsteps, Romeo Miller has been doing everything from “Dancing With The Stars”, to gracing late night TV. He’s never too busy, however to give a helping hand.

Alongside his father Master P., Romeo recently visited Los Angeles’ Audubon Middle School to stir up some interest in education.

The two are rewarding students who stand out academically by giving them brand new computers.

In 2010 Audubon reported some of the lowest test scores for the standardized state tests.

After raising it’s overall average, the Millers took notice of this and wanted to recognize their outstanding efforts.

“This is extremely important to me, middle school children are at the age of defining their lives,” said Romeo.

“It is necessary for them to know people care and want them to do well and sometimes when they do well, they are greatly rewarded, giving them the computers is just our way of letting them know this.”
