Aretha Franklin: I Didn't Have Gastric Bypass

Aretha Franklin: I Didn’t Have Gastric Bypass

Surgery helped Aretha Franklin lose 85 lbs. – just not that surgery.

That’s the story the Queen of Soul’s sticking to as she once again shoots down rumors about her health, this time the theory that she underwent gastric bypass surgery to drop weight.

“Definitely not – and would not,” Franklin, 68, tells Access Hollywood in a two-part interview to air Monday and Tuesday. “I heard that [rumor]. I said, ‘That is crazy.’ ”

Since undergoing a mysterious surgical procedure in December for reasons she refuses to reveal, Franklin’s health and weight loss have been much-buzzed-about topics. In January, she said she was “not going to even deal with” rumors that she had pancreatic cancer.

She did, however, offer a small clue about that surgery, saying that the weight came off “from the surgery that I had,” although she did not specify the procedure.

While very little information is known regarding Nelson’s death, Prince’s drummer and longtime collaborator Sheila E. tweeted to confirm the unfortunate news that Nelson was found dead in his apartment on Sunday. He was 52.

Duane Nelson was Prince’s older brother, although he graduated Minneapolis’s Central High School in 1976 — the same year as the eccentric singer. Both brothers played on the school’s basketball team, however Duane was said to be the more “athletically enthusiastic” of the two.

In 1994, Prince changed his name to a symbol, and Duane was appointed the head of his struggling Paisley Park company, recording studio and label, NPG Records. The cause and circumstances regarding his death are not yet known.

Lil Kim Thinks The Government Played A Role In Biggie's Death

Lil Kim Thinks The Government Played A Role In Biggie’s Death

March 9th marked the 14th anniversary of the death of Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace.

The 23-year-old rapper who was gunned down in L.A. March 9, 1997, is continuing to be remembered as one of the greatest rappers of all time with a gift for storytelling in his rhymes.

Along with his legions of fans, his old flame Lil Kim is also reflecting on the death of Big Poppa and called DJ Lady T’s radio show to offer her theory on who’s responsible for his untimely death.

According to Kim, the government may have played in a role in not only Biggie’s death but the death of Tupac Shakur as well.

She also adds that she think it’s much deeper than reports of Suge Knight’s involvement and something much more sinister.

She tells T,

“I always felt like Biggie and Tupac’s death were bigger than how they made it to be. It’s bigger than Suge Knight being involved, I think it’s even over his head. Them two were very powerful guys; they both could’ve ran for mayor just like Arnold Schwarzenegger and probably won. So I think the government was looking at it like we cannot have these two hood dudes with this much power…”

Copyright Lawsuit Against Kanye West's “Stronger” Dismissed

Copyright Lawsuit Against Kanye West’s “Stronger” Dismissed

A copyright lawsuit filed against Kanye West for his single “Stronger” has officially been dismissed.

As previously reported, Ye was sued by Songwriter Vincent “Vince P” Peters for stealing his original song under the same name and profiting from it.

According to Peters, he gave a copy of the track to Kanye’s business manager John Monopoly in 2006 before it was featured on Ye’s Graduation album.

Illinois Judge Virginia Kendall thought otherwise however, and threw out the case last week citing that the songs were not substantially similar.

Ye recently had another victory in court after reaching a settlement in an ongoing lawsuit filed by Suge Knight.
