Farrah Franklin, formerly of Destiny’s Child, was taken into custody over the weekend for disorderly conduct.  Franklin says she was racially profiled by the police.

“Unfortunately, I am the latest victim on what seems to be a growing list of those who are racially profiled and mistreated by Culver City Police,” Franklin said. “I was manhandled by the arresting officers.”

The Culver City Police Department. The department says they were simply responding to a disturbing the peace call.

“I am really upset about all that has taken place. I have never had a run in with the law before Saturday,” Franklin said. “On Saturday I was not arrested, I was detained.”

The Culver City Police Department again  disagrees with Franklin. They say she was definitely arrested for disorderly conduct.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Internet viral video hit Antoine Dodson is accused of possession of marijuana and other minor charges in his home state of Alabama.

Dodson was booked on five misdemeanor charges after he was stopped pulled over for alleged speeding early Saturday morning in Huntsville. He was booked at about 2:30 a.m. but has been released.

Dodson became a reality sensation last year after a televised rant about a break-in at his sister’s apartment was turned into a viral video that catapulted the 20-year-old into television appearances, blog mentions and other appearances.

Who said the life of a rap star was glamourous? Compton rapper The Game recently found himself locked up in Canada, before being released two days later without charge. It all seems a little ridiculous so we’ll let The Game do the talking and see if it makes any more sense:

“It ended up being two days man because my people, everybody was on it, man. From my girl to just everybody was on it. We finally had to get a signature from the secretary of state saying that all of my crimes I committed in the past were done with. I served my time, I was off probation, no parole, everything was dead so they ended up letting me go.”

What is remarkable is that the rapper was arrested in the first place, seemingly without a crime ever being committed. When asked about the reasoning behind it, The Game says:
“It was crazy. They let me see the paperwork for why they were holding me and it said like, ‘This person is in Canada. He’s kingpin of a gang of Bloods and he came to rally up Bloods and to bring new Bloods to the concert. They just made it seem like it was a cult. Like I’m trying to bring people in the name of my music to come and just pray for the Blood gods or something. I didn’t show no passport, they was waiting on me soon as I got off the plane so somebody knew something about something.”

CLINTON, Iowa — A fried chicken restaurant in Iowa founded by Flavor Flav has abruptly closed its doors after the reality TV star and his business partner cut ties and exchanged harsh words.

Flav’s Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, closed on Sunday, just four months after opening to much fanfare.

Flav said that he was pulling a license that allowed restaurant manager Nick Cimino to use his name in the restaurant because he “isn’t running the business right.” Some former employees had complained they were not paid.

Cimino told the station Flav was “a fraud” who was trying to get rich off of his ideas and work.

Flav, a founder of the hip-hop group Public Enemy and later a star of VH1’s “The Surreal Life,” opened the business with Cimino in January.

The Wall Street Journal recently profiled Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently and shot pictures of his 22,000- square foot estate in Las Vegas.

The $9-million dollar crib has a five-bedroom, seven-bath custom-built on a gated community golf course.

Rihanna’s “S&M” rises to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 granting the singer her 10th No. 1 on the survey and ownership of a pair of historic chart records.

Having first reigned atop the Hot 100 the week of May 13, 2006, with “SOS,” Rihanna logs the shortest span between a solo artist’s first and 10th No. 1s in the chart’s 52-year history, a stretch of four years, 11 months and two weeks.

Among all acts, Rihanna trails only the Beatles (one year, eight months and one week) and The Supremes (two years, eight months and three weeks) for the fastest accumulation of 10 Hot 100 No. 1s.

A Clark Atlanta intern tried to pull a fast one on comedian/host Steve Harvey.

Kyle Reynolds, 22, is accused of stealing $10,000 from Steve Harvey’s Piedmont Road office.

Reports state that when Reynolds was questioned by his supervisor and Harvey, the Clark intern denied stealing the money, which had been delivered by a bank employee to the office prior to the robbery.

The police report states Reynolds was seen on a security video going into Harvey’s office. Reynolds claimed he went into the room unauthorized to get a drink, but is seen on camera leaving the room without a beverage.

According to police, Reynolds later sent the supervisor a text message saying, “I am gonna get him the money just so I can end this.”

As of Thursday, the money had not been returned to Harvey. Clark Atlanta school officials informed police that Reynolds has not returned to the university since the incident and is believed to have relocated to New York.

LOS ANGELES – Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg’s talking birds have edged out Tyler Perry’s sass-talking grandma at the weekend box office.

Hathaway and Eisenberg’s animated family adventure “Rio” took in $26.8 million to remain the No. 1 movie for the second-straight weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

“Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family” debuted a close second with $25.8 million, another solid opening for writer-director Perry, who also stars as boisterous, opinionated grandma Madea.

Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson’s circus romance “Water for Elephants” premiered in third-place with $17.5 million.

Although he’s known for his pranks, Nick Cannon may have taken things a step too far Thursday when he stunned listeners of his WXRK radio show and gave out his home telephone number.

Cannon, who hosts a New York based drive –time radio show, was on-air when he spontaneously blurted out his home number.

He then took to Twitter to share the news and added that a lucky fan talked to his pregnant wife Mariah Carey before an avalanche of phone calls came in.

“My wife is going to kill me over this,” he tweeted. “Just gave out my home phone number on air and my pregnant wife picked up the line oops!”

Although Cannon shook it off as no big deal, his wife Mariah was obviously not happy.
