Earl “DMX” Simmons is serving a year-long sentence for violating probation that began back on December 16th. X will be released early on July 1st under supervised watch until August 12th.
The judge ruled that Simmons possibly suffered from bi-polar disorder and was admitted into the Flamenco Mental Health Unit at the facility.

Kelly Rowland may have finally stepped out of Beyonce’s massive shadow.
For the first time ever, the former Destiny Child’s member landed the #1 R&B/Hip-Hop song on Billboard.
The single, “Motivation,” featuring Lil Wayne debuted on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B charts 10 weeks ago, and finally made it’s way to #1.
This is Kelly’s second #1. “When Love Takes Over” landed on top of the Hot Dance Airplay & Dance Club Songs charts in 2009, but black people weren’t really checking for Kelly’s alternative solo music, so this #1 means more now.
Who would have thought the day would have come when Kelly Rowland would have a better song than Beyonce (“Who Run The World”). Word to Harold Camping.
Kelly Rowland’s new album Here I Am (doesn’t Usher already have an album titled that?) is due later this year.

Heralded photographer Danny Hastings recently revealed to MTV.com that an on set mishap nearly killed Nas during the 1999 photo shoot for I Am.
Hastings, famous for capturing images for such iconic hip-hop albums as Big Pun’s Capitol Punishment and Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, says God’s son nearly suffocated while being fitted for a clay mold in order to capture the King Tut image used for I Am’s cover art.
“The funny part was that the first attempt, Nas was getting asphyxiated. We almost killed Nas,” Hastings told MTV.com.
Luckily, things were OK. “We cleaned him up, and he was like, ‘Let’s do it again!’ […] Nas was a true sport.”
The vision of continuing the lineage of album covers no doubt added to the illmatic rapper’s determination. Hastings dropped the knowledge on each covers theme saying,
“The first one, you have him being a boy, very young. The second was a little bit older. And the third one, he was a king,” he explained. “He already conquered the world. He was on top of the world. He was doing a lot of big things. We came with the concept of making a King Tut sarcophagus piece.”

Snoop Dogg spoke with UK radio jockey Tim Westwood candidly about the hold up on Dr. Dre’s Detox album. He claimed that after such a long wait, Dre is being a true perfectionist that doesn’t want to give people anything subpar and be subject to scrutiny.
Snoop goes into detail about what the hold up is and he sights himself and rapper, The D.O.C as the missing ingredients.”He’s got a strong work ethic and I’m gon’ say this and I don’t know if it’s gonna ruffle any feathers, I just think the wrong people is in the environment.
Snoop credited D.O.C for showing him how to put songs together and went on to say that what’s missing from Dre’s situation is “the gangsta rhymes from me [Snoop] and the structure from D.O.C”
“You got music, it has to go hand in hand, that’s holy matrimony, and right now it’s holy macaroni,” said Snoop.
Snoop even freestyled ‘off the top of the head’ a little about the topic spitting, “call the D-O-G and the D-O-C and the D-R-E will be back on the T-O-P”

MIAMI — Hip-hop singer Sean Kingston has been stabilized and moved to the intensive care unit at a hospital after crashing his watercraft into a Miami Beach bridge, his publicist said Monday.
The publicist, Joseph Carozza, said Kingston’s family is grateful for everyone’s prayers and support.
Kingston and a female passenger were injured when the watercraft hit the Palm Island Bridge around 6 p.m. Sunday, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino said.
The Miami Herald reports that a passing boater saw the accident and took the two on board his vessel. Both were hospitalized early Monday at Ryder Trauma Center, but Pino said he didn’t know their conditions.
Authorities are investigating the crash, and “nothing at this point would indicate that alcohol played a role,” Pino said.
Kingston rose to fame with his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls” and was also featured on songs by artists including Justin Bieber. His self-titled debut album sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
On Twitter, Bieber posted a message of support for Kingston. “Got my friend Sean Kingston in my prayers tonight,” Bieber tweeted early Monday. “A true friend and big bro. Please keep him in your prayers tonight as well.”

Last week Keyshia Cole was up in arms over BET passing her by on a nomination for the 2011 BET Awards, but all that was forgotten this weekend as the R&B singer officially tied the knot with her love, NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson.
The two, engaged since last year, exchanged vows in a private ceremony on Saturday (May 21). An elated Gibson, a player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, took to his Twitter page to share the news of his union with Cole.
“It’s OFFICIAL!!!!! #Done & #TrulyBlessed.. Mr. & Mrs. Gibson. We appreciate all the Well Wishes!” Gibson wrote.
Several days prior, Cole eluded to the nuptials on her own Twitter page, writing, “I’m ready to marry my baby. We all we got. #fambam.”
Cole marrying Gibson comes after the couple’s first child, Daniel Hiram Gibson, Jr., whom Keyshia gave birth to in March 2010, two months after she and Gibson reportedly were engaged.

If Maria Shriver decides to file for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger, the payout could put Tiger Woods’ $110 million divorce to shame. According to Page Six, the couple’s net worth has been placed between $200 million and $400 million, which means shouldShriver cut legal ties with her husband of 25 years, she could take over $200 million with her.
Though it’s believed the power couple has some sort of prenup in place, the longevity of their marriage and Schwarzenegger’s infidelity is likely to trump the relevance of the document in court.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver announced their separation earlier this month, and last week news broke that the former California governor had fathered a child with the couple’s former maid and assistant.

Rapper Trina received more attention with her single two-word tweet than she has gotten for any of her music in a long time. After typing ‘f*ck BET’ on her Twitter page for not being nominated at this year’s BET Awards the Diamond Princess has buried the hatchet with the Network.
‘I would like to apologize to BET Network and Stephen Hill for speaking out how I felt,’ she wrote. ‘I spoke with Stephen Hill and our conversation was full of understanding.’
Hill explained that Trina was not snubbed, rather she was not eligible given the nominations period for the awards.
