Rapper 2 Chainz Acquitted On Drug Charges

Rapper 2 Chainz Acquitted On Drug Charges

EASTON, Md.  — Rapper 2 Chainz has been acquitted of drug charges he faced after a traffic stop on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

The Star Democrat of Easton, Md., reports that a county judge found the rapper not guilty Wednesday. 2 Chainz’s real name is Tauheed Epps.

The Atlanta-based rapper was headed to a college homecoming event in February when state troopers stopped the van he was traveling in. Police said they searched the van after smelling burnt marijuana and found a marijuana grinder and marijuana inside a backpack.

2 Chainz was cited for having drug paraphernalia and marijuana after he claimed the bag. The rapper’s security guard testified that in a rush to leave the group’s Baltimore hotel room, he packed the grinder, but he said he didn’t know who owned it.

The lawsuit was filed against concert promoter It’s My Party Inc., over a cancelled show at George Mason University.

The TGOD rapper was promised 85k for the show plus a cut of the profits. The concert promoter responded to Wiz’s lawsuit saying that Wiz never signed a contract, so there was no deal.  A judge agreed with It’s My Party Inc., and dismissed the lawsuit.

Rihanna Earns Billboard Record For Most No. 1 Pop Songs

Rihanna Earns Billboard Record For Most No. 1 Pop Songs

Rihanna is known for releasing chart-topping singles and her latest song “Stay” is no exception to the rule.

The record landed in the no. 1 spot, which officially marked the Grammy-winning singer’s tenth no. 1 hit on Billboard’s pop songs radio airplay chart. The latest breakthrough also makes Rihanna the first artist to earn 10 no. 1 titles in the chart’s 20-year history.

In doing so, she beat out Katy Perry who has previously snagged the no. 1 slot nine times since her breakout “I Kissed a Girl” debuted on the charts in 2008. The “Umbrella” singer has released several hit singles since her arrival in 2006 when “SOS” spent one week as no. 1 on the chart. Her 2011 song “We Found Love”, featuring Calvin Harris, marked the artist’s longest claim of the top spot where it reigned for eight weeks.

After releasing seven albums in the last seven years, Rihanna’s latest single “Stay” has marked another milestone for the Grammy-winning singer.
