The news comes just days before Fox needs to have all four judges firmly in place, as they are scheduled to begin work on the new season.

Assuming the deals are finalized as expected, Rowland and Rubio will fill the seats left empty by Britney Spears and L.A. Reid. Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato will return for the coming season, airing this fall.

Glover looked stunned when “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest announced she bested soulful 22-year-old country singer Kree Harrison from Woodville, Texas.

Glover said backstage after winning she learned to “have fun, live in the moment and be confident.”

After her crowning, an emotional Glover sobbed her way through her new single “I Am Beautiful.”

Lil Mouse has endured quite a bit of controversy in his short career. Now, the 13-year-old rapper has been accused of threatening and assaulting a third grader for snitching.

Is R&B singer Bobby V impersonating Ray J? The 33-year-old crooner, whose real name is Robert Wilson, reportedly has a new sex tape that’s being shopped around.

The video is supposedly reminiscent of Ray J’s skin flick with Kim Kardashian as Bobby V films himself doing the nasty. The featured lady, who is reportedly a video vixen, and the “Sex in the Lounge” singer kick off the sex tape with some touching before getting into the full action. Bobby V is not the seller of the video, and it’s not even clear if he’s aware of it being shopped around.

The singer has not commented on the amateur porn reportedly starring him.

ATLANTA — Rapper Gucci Mane has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge stemming from an altercation with a fan at a downtown Atlanta nightclub.

The rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon. An arrest warrant was issued for Gucci Mane after James Lettley of Fort Hood, Texas, who serves in the military, told police the rapper struck him in the V.I.P. area at Harlem Nights Club on March 16.

Lettley said he was in Atlanta for his birthday and hoped to get a picture with the rapper when he was attacked.

Gatsby looks almost as great as a superhero at the weekend box office.

Leonard DiCaprio’s “The Great Gatsby” partied like it was the Roaring ’20s with a $51.1 million debut that made it a surprisingly strong runner-up to comic-book blockbuster “Iron Man 3.”

Studio estimates Sunday put “Gatsby” at No. 2 behind Robert Downey Jr.’s superhero sequel, which pulled in $72.5 million domestically to raise its total to $284.9 million after just 10 days in U.S. theaters.

The weekend’s other new wide release, Lionsgate’s romantic comedy “Peeples,” flopped at No. 4 with just $4.9 million. Produced by Tyler Perry, the movie stars Craig Robinson and Kerry Washington in a meet-the-parents-style farce.

Getting a head start on its domestic launch Friday, “Star Trek: Into Darkness” opened with $31.7 million in seven international markets. Its overseas debut included $13.3 million in Great Britain, $7.6 million in Germany and $5.5 million in Australia.

Starring DiCaprio in the title role as 1920s mystery millionaire Jay Gatsby, the latest Fitzgerald update co-stars Carey Mulligan as his lost love and Tobey Maguire as the friend chronicling their doomed romance.
