Terrence Howard is desperately in need of a comeback vehicle and Viola Davis’ post-Help work has been less than inspired.

But their co-starring roles in an edgy-looking upcoming thriller Prisoners featuring Hugh Jackman may give both their careers some much needed juice.

Howard and Davis play a couple alongside Jackman and veteran character actress Maria Bello. Both duos innocently allow their small children to go to one of their houses unattended and they are then mysteriously abducted.

When the prime suspect in the crime is released without charges the parents take matters into their own hands.

Rapper Snoop Lion (better known as Snoop Dogg) continues to jump out of his hip-hop comfort zone with his latest single off his reggae album, REINCARNATED.

“Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” is a duet featuring the unlikely pairing of former Disney actress, singer Miley Cyrus.

The latest installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise proved just that at the box office over the holiday weekend, pulling in an estimated $98.5 million over three days on its way to what’s expected to be a four-day holiday total of about $122.2 million. That’s the biggest first weekend for the six-film franchise and the biggest opening weekend in total dollars ever for a Universal film.

It’s also the second-biggest opening of 2013, behind only “Iron Man 3,” which took in more than $175 million on the first weekend after opening May 3. “Fast & Furious 6” has a global estimate from Friday through Sunday of $275.5 million.

“Hangover Part III” made $52 million, “Star Trek Into Darkness, $38 million, Beyonce’s new animated adventure “Epic,” $34.1 million and “Iron Man 3,” $24.6 million.

Jay-Z’s foray into sports management has already hit a snag — the NFL is investigating whether the rap superstar violated league rules involving the recruitment New York Jets draft pick Geno Smith.

The most Hip-Hop father and son combo in the world goes to Will and Jayden Smith, and here’s the proof. While the appearing on the BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, a full blown DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince reunion, featuring Alfonso Ribeiro aka “Carlton Banks,” went down.

Last time Smith was on Graham Norton’s show, the Philadelphia native lead the crowd in a rendition of the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. This time,  Smith set things off by beatboxing while his son kicked a freestyle.

But things got turned up a notch when he revealed that DJ Jazzy Jeff was in the house. The theme of Smith’s show was once again kicked, but another surprises was in store as Ribeiro came out and did his trademark dance to Tom Jone’s “It’s Not Unusual.”

Hip-Hop lost one of its favorite sons when Heavy D passed away in November 2011. But no one may feel his loss more than his daughter, Eulahlee Myers. The late rapper’s family, specifically his mother, has asserted that her granddaughter will be inheriting her late father’s enitre estate when she is of age.

Every single penny from Heavy D’s estate will go to the late rapper’s 13-year-old daughter … this according to Heavy’s mom.

Fast cars, guns, girls in bikinis and men with six-packs; The Fast and the Furious franchise has never been the most sophisticated series out there. But it sure knows its audience. Which is why, from 2001’s inaugural The Fast and the Furious onwards, its five films to date have grossed US $1.5 billion.

The last film, Fast Five (2011), which saw the welcome addition of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to the cast, took $626m worldwide, some $260m more than its nearest rival, 2009’s fourth installment Fast & Furious. In other words, they must be doing something right.

Refusing to remain in neutral, as so many filmmakers behind sequels do, the director Justin Lin and the producer/star Vin Diesel, who plays the gang leader Dom Torretto, have turned what started out as a cult tale of illegal street racers into a sprawling, continent-crossing crime saga. Now comes the first of the series to be set in Europe. Primarily roaring through the streets of London.

It certainly seems as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel for songstress Mary J. Blige with regards to her money troubles.  Now Uncle Sam has his hand out for a reported $3.4 million, accusing Blige of failing to pay federal taxes for the years 2009 through 2011.

The IRS, which has filed a federal tax lien against Blige, is claiming that she owes them $574,907.30 for 2009, $203,743.53 for 2010, and $647,604.60 for 2011, bringing the grand total of the debt to $3,426,255.43.

Blige has been embroiled in quite a bit of money drama over the last few years. Last February, the state of New Jersey came calling and demanded that she pay the reported $900,000-plus she reportedly owed them.  During the same month, the 42-year-old singer discovered that a notice had been tacked on the door of her tony New York City apartment, stating that she had a “rent-paying problem.”  She had only lived in the luxury building for less than a year at the time.

The woman whose net worth is a reported $45 million and who has sold 50 million albums globally also had a series of copyright infringement lawsuits that she has been battling, which allegedly cost her upward of $1 million a year.

Comedian and ’90s sitcom star Sinbad has filed for bankruptcy again. The 56-year-old actor, né David Adkins, has filed for bankruptcy for the second time in April, saying that he owed a debt of approximately $11 million, $8 million of which included owed money in back taxes.

What’s more, the onetime HBO favorite claims in the filing that he rakes in only $16,000 per month and owns just $131,000 in assets.
