Blue Ivy to star in Disney’s ‘Mufasa”
Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter are teaming up as the 12-year-old has landed her very first role Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. Both Bey and Blue Ivy will appear in the film that is a prequel to Lion King.
Blue Ivy will play Princess Kiara in the film, while the Cowboy Carter artist will reprise her role as Queen Nala from the 2019 movie.
Critics didn’t love Disney’s remake of the beloved cartoon, however, the film still raked in $1.663B at the box office.
Rotten Tomatoes summed up the reception: “The Lion King is a by-the-numbers retelling that lacks the energy and heart that made the original so beloved-though for some fans that may just be enough.”
The new teaser trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King shows off the movie impressive special effects. It also ends with the words “Introducing Blue Ivy Carter,” flashing on a black screen.

One of Eddie Murphy’s upcoming movies is currently in production but recently faced an on-set issue. The Amazon MGM Studios film, which is titled The Pick Up and also stars Pete Davidson and more, made headlines earlier this week after “several” crew members were apparently injured . The studio confirmed that information via a statement and at the time, said that it was “in the process of gathering facts.” Now, it’s been confirmed that a federal investigation has been launched.
The inquiry into this matter is being handled by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, according to The Hollywood Reporter . It was previously reported that the incident occurred while second-unit production on the film was in progress. At the time, the crew was allegedly filming a “pre-rehearsed” action sequence, which “did not go as planned.” A representative from the U.S. Department of Labor shared new comments with the trade, confirming that the situation is being analyzed.
As the investigation is open, we are unable to provide preliminary or interim information at this time.

Tamar Braxton
Tamar Braxton is like so many other people who are giving Beyoncé her flowers for the impact of her latest album, COWBOY CARTER. The “Braxton Family Values” star was asked her thoughts on the project when she appeared on the 100th episode of the “We Sound Crazy” podcast.
A clip from their conversation began circulating this past weekend. In it, the Love and War vocalist shared, “I think that Black country is so necessary. I’m so happy that people with talent who can actually sing country music, that are Black people, are finally getting the recognition they deserve. That’s what I think.”
Moreover, Braxton added, “I just really appreciate Beyoncé for opening the door for all the other Black artists that has, you know, rode that wave behind the floodgates. I’m just really appreciative of her. These people can really sing. They’re so talented…”r
