The New Jersey Nets have been fined $50,000 after their minority owner Jay-Z, went in the Kentucky locker room after the Wildcats clinched a Final Four berth.

League spokesman Tim Frank confirmed the fine Friday before the Nets played the New York Knicks at the Prudential Center.

NBA rules prohibit team personnel from having contact with players who are not yet draft eligible.

The Bulls unveiled the bronze bust showing Scottie Pippen in his No. 33 jersey during a ceremony at halftime of Thursday’s game against the Boston Celtics at the United Center.

Weeks after Allen Iversons’s car was repossessed, authorities are releasing more details on the incident.

As previously reported, Iverson’s Lamborghini was impounded by police after he was caught driving with expired tags.

The player was then given a ticket and left the scene in an accompanying friend’s vehicle.

Now police report that during the incident Iverson became combative and asked them, “Do you know who I am?!”

According to a police report, the baller was riding in a car with his friend Antwuan Clisby who was pulled over for making a lane change without signaling.

According to the report, Clisby couldn’t produce documentation for the vehicle and asked if Iverson could leave so he could eat dinner.

When the officer refused, A.I. reportedly became enraged and said, “I’m the (expletive) passenger!”

Backup was then called and both men were asked to exit the vehicle.

Police discovered that the car belonged to A.I., but the tags had expired two years ago prompting police to tell him that the sports car would be towed.

Sunday Tiger Woods made a valiant Sunday run to win his fifth green jacket, but came up short in the 75th Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club.

Starting the final round tied for ninth, seven strokes behind pacesetter Rory McIlroy, the 35-year-old Woods electrified the patrons by posting a 5-under-par 31 on the front nine to earn a share of the lead.

Ultimately, two short missed putts ruined his comeback. Woods returned in even-par 36 and settled for a 5-under 67 to finish at 10-under 278 and tied for fourth for the second straight year. Woods was four strokes behind winner Charl Schwartzel of South Africa, who birdied the last four holes and shot 66. It marked the sixth consecutive year Woods has finished sixth or better at Augusta.

“I got off to a good start,” Woods said. “I should have shot 3- or 4-under on the back nine and I only posted even.”

Tiger took home $330,667.

NEW YORK — Unwilling to face another drug ban, Manny Ramirez is leaving baseball and is at peace with his decision while the sport confronts the specter of steroids again.

One of the game’s great sluggers, Ramirez tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance and wasted little time in saying he was done with the game.

He retired Friday rather than face a 100-game suspension for a second violation of Major League Baseball’s drug policy. The 12-time All-Star served a 50-game ban in 2009 while with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Second-time offenders get double that penalty.

A person familiar with the situation confirmed that Ramirez tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the nature of Ramirez’s issue with MLB’s drug policy was not publicly disclosed.

Rays vice president Andrew Friedman, who signed Ramirez to a $2 million, one-year contract in the offseason, said the club was “obviously surprised” when it learned what happened and was “hurt by what transpired.”

CHICAGO — Chicago Bears great William “The Refrigerator” Perry has his 1985 Super Bowl ring back on his finger thanks to a 10-year-old boy.

Cliff Forrest of Fox Chapel, Pa., took $8,500 out of his college savings account to buy Perry’s Super Bowl ring in New York.

“He only played in one Super Bowl,” Cliff said. “I thought he would want it more than I did.”

So the boy asked his dad if he could give the ring back to Perry, who has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. The autoimmune disease attacks the nervous system and can cause paralysis.

But Cliff admires Perry and had heard of the famous Chicago Bears Super Bowl XX-winning team. Cliff’s parents agreed and set out to return the ring to Perry, taking a flight to Chicago and giving the former football player his ring before an autograph session.

In return, Perry gave the boy two autographed jerseys signed: “The Fridge, Thanks!”

LONDON — The prospects of a Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Junior’s fight have dealt a blow after the latter refused $50 million to step into the ring with his Filipino rival.

Speculations regarding a bout between the two have been growing in recent months. However, after recent negotiations between the two camps, Pacquiao’s adviser revealed that $50 million were offered to Mayweather but the he declined the proposal.
