While Adam Scott celebrated the biggest victory of his career at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday, his caddie Steve Williams took a few verbal jabs at his former employer Tiger Woods.

New Zealander Williams described Australian Scott’s four-shot victory at Firestone Country Club as the “most satisfying” of his career, despite having previously won 13 majors in tandem with Woods.

Williams also took issue with the manner of his firing by Woods on July 3, saying the split had been conducted over the phone and not face-to-face as his former employer has said.

“It’s the most satisfying win I’ve ever had, there’s no two ways about it,” Williams told reporters after Scott had clinched his first World Golf Championships (WGC) title with a flawless five-under-par 65.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. — ESPN analyst and former NBA player Jalen Rose was sentenced to 20 days in jail Wednesday for a drunken-driving crash along a snowy suburban Detroit road.

Rose, a college star at the University of Michigan, actually was sentenced to 92 days in custody, but District Court Judge Kimberly Small suspended all but 20. He also was given a year of probation.

Rose pleaded guilty in May. At that time, he said he veered off a West Bloomfield Township road in March after drinking six martinis. His blood-alcohol content was 0.12 percent, above Michigan’s legal driving limit of 0.08. No one was injured.

PHILADELPHIA — Michael Vick’s endorsement deal with a sports nutrition company lasted less than one month because of a similar contract with a competitor.

Earlier this month, Vick signed a five-year agreement with Fuse Science, Inc., to promote its line of sports nutrition products. But Double Eagle Holdings Ltd., which owns Fuse Science, terminated the deal after MusclePharm Corp. wrote a news release stating Vick agreed to a three-year pact with that outfit, and in doing so, MusclePharm became the exclusive sports nutrition company of Vick.

Fuse Science disclosed in SEC filing on Tuesday that the company learned of Vick’s association with a competitive company on or about July 20.

Vick, who led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 10-6 record and an NFC East title last season as his comeback continued, reported to the team’s facility on Tuesday, and will begin training camp later this week.

The Washington Redskins, Vikings and Donovan McNabb have a preliminary agreement in place for the veteran quarterback to be traded to Minnesota.

The compensation issues that were the stumbling blocks to the trade appear to be resolved.

The one sticking point now appears to be McNabb’s concern about how the Vikings’ side of the situation was handled. Sources said there were some in the organization who expressed a preference in acquiring quarterback Tyler Thigpen, who since has agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills.

McNabb will be making far less than the $14.75 million he would have been due from the Redskins, but it is not clear how much he will be paid, and how any incentives would alter his compensation.

MIAMI — Nine years later, the Miami Dolphins have again traded for a New Orleans Saints running back who won the Heisman Trophy.
This time it’s Reggie Bush.

The Dolphins finalized a trade for Bush on Thursday by negotiating a new two-year contract for nearly $10 million with him, a person familiar with the talks said.

It wasn’t known what the Saints would receive in the trade.

Miami acquired former Heisman winner Ricky Williams from the Saints in 2002, with mixed results. He won an NFL rushing title with the

Dolphins, but they haven’t won a playoff game since that trade.

Bush was due about $11.8 million this season, the final year of his Saints contract. It would have been difficult for them to justify paying that given their salary cap constraints.

Football player Chad Ochocinco recently lost some twitter followers over his reading and tweeting about Glenn Beck’s book “Broke.”

His tweets read: “Gotten through 3 chapters in @glennbeck book and so far everything he’s said is either common or his opinion based off research.”

“I don’t agree with a lot of this s— but nonetheless its interesting reading the views n opinions from what I’d like to call the other side.”

It goes without saying that Beck isn’t the most revered figure in left-wing politics, and is certainly not a favorite in the Black community.

Therefore upon sending out the tweets, Ochocinco was heavily criticized by followers—some even un-followed him. One follower responded: “unfollowing [you] after two years because you’re a Beck fan. Disgraceful and disappointing.”

C.J. Senter is called the workout kid — partly because he is very fit for his age, and also, he teaches fitness to older kids — only at the age of 10.

He is a considered a fitness guru — who has a fitness DVD. Senter does his own routine three times a week.

“I love working out so much because I get to stay fit and healthy, Senter said. “And live a long healthy life.”

Senter said no one really introduced him to fitness. “I just started working out when I was five when I got home from football practice,” he said. “I liked it, I have been doing it ever since.”

Senter said kids should go outside, stay active for at least one hour and exercise.

WASHINGTON – NFL owners and players agreed early Monday to the terms of a deal to end the lockout, and players were expected to begin their voting process later in the day, two people familiar with the negotiations said.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the process was supposed to remain secret and no formal announcement had been made.

The NFL Players Associa-tion’s executive committee was to meet at its headquarters in Washington on Monday so it could be presented with the finalized agreement.
Owners overwhelmingly approved a proposal last week, but some unresolved issues still needed to be figured out to satisfy players; the owners do not need to vote again.

The sides worked through the weekend and wrapped up talks Monday morning.

The league’s old labor deal expired in March, and the owners locked out the players, the NFL’s first work stoppage since 1987.

“We have every reason to believe it’s going to be a good day,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wrote in an email to the AP.

If players sign off on the agreement Monday, NFL clubs would be able to start signing 2011 draft picks and rookie free agents on Tuesday. Conversations with veteran free agents also could start Tuesday, and signings could begin Friday.

Under that tentative schedule, training camps would open for 10 of the 32 teams on Wednesday, 10 teams on Thursday, another 10 teams on Friday, and the last two teams on Sunday.

The major economic framework for the deal was worked out more than a week ago.

That included how the more than $9 billion in annual league revenues will be divided (about 53 percent to owners and 47 percent to players over the next decade; the old CBA resulted in nearly a 50-50 split); a per-club cap of about $120 million for salary and bonuses in 2011 – and at least that in 2012 and 2013 – plus about $22 million for benefits; a salary system to rein in spending on first-round draft picks; and unrestricted free agency for most players after four seasons.
