Houston Rockets forward Terrence Jones has been arrested after shouting at and stomping on the leg of a homeless man in Portland.

Jones was charged with harassment and is scheduled to appear in court next week.

Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau says, while watching the group walk away from the bar, the sergeant observed a man, later identified as Terrence Jones, walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping. Jones yelled, “Wake up,” then raised his leg and stomped down on one of the men’s legs.

The reported victim was 46-year-old Daniel John Kellerher, who suffered a minor leg injury from Jones.

The Seattle Seahawks made one of the biggest moves of the offseason in acquiring Percy Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings, but it appears the versatile offensive weapon will be on the shelf for much of the 2013 slate.

As reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Harvin will require surgery for a hip injury he sustained last week and is expected to miss three to four months of action:

Alex Rodriguez claims in an interview with Sports Illustrated that he still wants “to be a role model” despite the “noise” surrounding the embattled New York Yankees slugger from the Biogenesis scandal.

“Look, it’s concerning,” Rodriguez told the magazine. “I have two daughters at home, and I’m sensitive to that, and above all, I want to be a role model, continue to be a role model — especially to my girls.

Former NBA All-Star Alvin Robertson is one of seven people facing charges involving sexual assault and sex trafficking of a 14 year old girl. He’s accused of forcing an underaged child to have sex with him.
Investigators say the 47-year- old athlete is part of a ring that kidnapped the girl and forced her into prostitution and dancing at a strip club.
Robertson lives in San Antonio but was arrested in Arkansas. His arrest is part of an investigation that started last April.
That’s when the teenaged girl waved down a police cruiser and told officers she had been abducted from San Antonio. The girl’s parents had reported her as a runaway.
The girl eventually escaped from a 49-year-old Corpus Christi man who was her captor, as he took a shower. He has pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child.
Robertson’s girlfriend, Racquel Mcintosh, and five other men police say are involved, have been arrested in San Antonio.

When the media circus that will inevitably surround the superfight between Floyd “Money” Mayweather (44-0, 26 KOs) and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KOs) engulfs the sports world, it is imperative that Mayweather plays up his role as the villain.
Money has never had an issue with portraying the bad guy in a matchup, and just as the boxing world rallied around Oscar De La Hoya in 2007, fans will look to Alvarez to become the star who finally dethrones the undefeated Mayweather.
Mayweather has to turn himself into the ultimate villain and turn Canelo into a bigger star than he already is. Alvarez is being portrayed as a hero by many fans already, but Money running the challenger down in public would give casual fans the underdog they want to see steal the victory.

The stress of coping with life led Will Hill to use marijuana, the New York Giants safety said Sunday in his first comments after being hit by the NFL with his second four-game suspension.
Speaking frankly before practicing at training camp, Hill said that the suspension he received last week for using marijuana was for
The league didn’t immediately impose a penalty because Hill tried to fight it. He was also suspended for four games early last season for using a performance-enhancing drug, which he and the team said was Adderall.
The 23-year-old would miss the opening four games of the season if he makes the team. He said he has not used any banned substances this year and recently underwent drug rehabilitation in March and April in Boston, following that with outpatient meetings in New Jersey.
