Lamar Jackson: Don't Have Relationship with Mahomes; Chiefs Opener Isn't Revenge Game

Lamar Jackson: Don’t Have Relationship with Mahomes; Chiefs Opener Isn’t Revenge Game

Patrick Mahomes / Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens’ season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday doesn’t carry an added personal edge for star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The two-time MVP told reporters Sunday he doesn’t have much of a relationship with the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, which is the case with him and most other QBs around the NFL.

Adding onto that, Jackson said he doesn’t view a matchup with the Chiefs, who beat Baltimore in last year’s AFC title game as a revenge game because “any game I play in I feel like it’s a revenge game.”

Russell Wilson Named One Of Four Steelers Captains

Russell Wilson Named One Of Four Steelers Captains

Russell Wilson

PITTSBURGH — Seven months after becoming a Pittsburgh Steeler, quarterback Russell Wilson was selected to be one of four captains by his teammates for the 2024 season.

“He’s a strong leader, and he brings veteran experience,” said Miles Killebrew, who was also elected a team captain along with Cameron Heyward and T.J. Watt. “He’s been doing it at a high level for a long time and I think with that experience [he] kind of calms nerves, and he can lead guys through various situations because he’s seen it. He’s seen a lot, so just a calming presence, I would say.”

Before being named a captain, Wilson, who signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in March, was named the team’s starting quarterback over Justin Fields days after the final preseason game.

Steph Curry's Wife Ok After Confrontation With French Police

Steph Curry’s Wife Ok After Confrontation With French Police

Steph Curry and Ayesha

Ayesha Curry had some trouble with French police after the men’s basketball Olympic final.

In the moments after Steph Curry and Team USA won a gold medal in the men’s basketball final at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, the Golden State Warriors point guard’s wife, Ayesha, was caught in a stressful situation. She stated later that she was Ok.

A now viral video of Ayesha showed the mom-of-four holding back tears as she attempted to get back to her car on Saturday, August 10, while holding the famous couple’s newborn sonCaius, in a baby carrier strapped around her chest.

Ayesha Curry nearly bursted into tears as police stopped her group from getting back to their vehicle.

Ayesha, 35, was also holding the hand of one of her and Steph’s four kids and could be seen talking to police for about three minutes with her mother-in-law, Sonya Curry, and Steph’s Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green.

While it’s not exactly clear what the problem was, Sonya, 58, asked police to stop speaking to her, as Draymond, 34, was heard asking a French officer: “So even after him hitting the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?”

At one point, Sonya seemed to decide to ignore law enforcement’s directions by signaling Ayesha to join her and trying to push past police to get to the group’s transportation.

“It’s right there, where all those people are on that side, we were over there,” Sonya informed the cops. “They won’t let us go back over there where we came from. They won’t let the driver come here and they won’t let us go back over there.”

Following the game, James commented on the opportunity to play with Curry. He spoke on the urgency of getting Curry the ball on the offensive end, given his shooting ability.

“You just marvel at his talent,” James said. “Obviously, I’ve seen it before, you know, on the opposite side. But having him on your side, you just try to get stops and figure out other ways on the other end, but keep finding him. Keep getting him the ball. He’s the best shooter of all-time”
