Beulah Baptist Institutional Church held its Veterans Day Program on Saturday, November 9th, at the Westin Hotel on Harbour Island. MEN OF VISION AT HILLSBOROUGH HIGH SCHOOL INDUCTED INTO HONOR SOCIETY

WILBERT DAVIS BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB HOSTS ‘LIGHTS ON AFTERSCHOOL’
The Wilbert Davis Boys and Girls Club was the recent site of “Lights On AfterSchool.” Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year. Among those at Wilbert Davis B&G Club recently were: Dwaine Terry (D. On October 4, 2024, the Hillsborough County Historical Advisory Council revealed a historic marker at Rogers Park Golf Course, in honor of the first Black golf course in Tampa. FRATERNITY JOINS OTHERS IN SERVING HOT MEALS
Members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. joined Commissioner Gwen Myers, Mayor Jane Castor and other groups as they served hot meals on Sunday, October 13, after Hurricane Milton. DR. TRACI’S HOUSE IS WINNER OF BUSINESS AMBASSADOR AWARD

MRS. WILLIE MAE DAVIS LANE CELEBRATED ON HER 90TH BIRTHDAY
Mrs. Willie Mae Davis Lane celebrated her 90th birthday over the weekend with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and church family. The event was held on Saturday at the Charles Davis Conference Center, where all in attendance were asked to wear blue.
Celebrating with Mrs. Lane, center, were her children: Solomon ‘Sol’ Davis, Peggy Davis Berger, Ret. Lt. Colonel Willie Ernie Davis, Ella Davis Lightbody, Ret. Chief Petty Officer William C. Conage and Robert E. Davis. Mrs. Lane is the mother of the late Cynthia Davis Williams and Sgt. First Class Wilbert Davis. Wilbert was among the first casualties during the Iraq War.
Mrs. Lane is a Mother at her church, College Hill COGIC and still actively attends.

YOUTH IN SUMMER PROGRAM GET ANNUAL BOOST FOR BACK TO SCHOOL
Youth in the summer program at the Gwen Miller Community Center at the Woodland Terrace Park received their annual visit from Darrell Daniels, Executive Director Youth Programs, Derrick Brooks Charities. Daniels is the annual speaker for the summer youth events, sharing words of encouragement for the upcoming school year.
