GREATER BETHEL M. B. CHURCH HOSTS COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY
Greater Bethel M. B. Church, Inc., held its Homeless Community Service Day on Saturday, October 6. The guest speaker was Attorney Paul Rebein. Greater Bethel, in partnership with Metropolitan Ministries, is helping those who are in need with housing and other necessities. More than 30 community service partners participated and offered an array of social services to the homeless and low income community. Among those who volunteered with the event are: Helen Bullock, Alice Moore, Willie Brown, Sonja Bexley and Gwen Myers, Program Coordinator. Dr. Brett Snowden is the Pastor. SUCCESS STORY SHARED AT 2018 CEC OF TAMPA LUNCHEON
Javed Morgan shared his ‘Story of Success’ on Tuesday when the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa (CDC) held its annual luncheon. The CDC Champions Luncheon was held at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre. The Keynote Speaker was Stephen Glaude, President & CEO, Coalition of Nonprofit Housing & Economic Development, Washington, D. C. Morgan, founder of WealthWave, a financial service, credits much of his success to the CDC Of Tampa Youth Services. A Middleton graduate, Morgan is shown with several students from Middleton, who are part of the CDC Youth Services Program. YELLOW JACKETS WIN 2018 HERITAGE CLASSIC, 19-16
The Yellow Jackets of Howard W. Blake High School won the 2018 Heritage Classic, 19-16. The competition between Blake and the Tigers of Middleton High School was held on Friday night at Blake. The Athletic Boosters Club of Blake hosted this year’s event. The Title Sponsors were Dr. and Mrs. H. Earl Cotman. Mrs. Cotman is a Blake graduate and former queen. HOWARD W. BLAKE CLASS OF 1963 CELEBRATES 55th REUNION
The Howard W. Blake High School Class of 1963 celebrated its 55th Class Reunion September 21-23, 2018. On September 23, the class culminated the weekend at Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant. FIRST ANNUAL SILVER NIGHT OUT DANCE HELD
The Bryan Glazer Family JCC and the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department hosted the First Annual Silver Night Out Dance for Active Adults. The formal event was held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, 6-10 p. m. at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC. Active Adults throughout Hillsborough County aged 50 years young and older were invited to attend. MRS. MOZELLA HESTER CELEBRATES HER 80TH BIRTHDAY
