CORT OF APPEAL POP-UP SHOP LAUNCHES BUSINESS

         Cortnie Simmons Hordge, owner of Cort of Appeal (www.cortappeal.com), held a Pop-Up Shop and official business launch at Armature Works, Tampa’s popular mixed-use space, on March 19th. Cort of Appeal provides interior design and fashion styling services. The company’s mission is to bring style to homes and wardrobes. After all, life isn’t perfect but your home and wardrobe can be. DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC. CELEBRATES 75^thANNIVERSARY WITH BOAT PARADE

Members of the Tampa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is celebrating 75 years of community service and social action in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. One of their signature events was a Boat Parade on the Hillsborough River on April 9, 2022. Several of the sorority’s national officers were in town for the event. ATHENA SOCIETY HONORS 10 YOUNG WOMEN OF PROMISE

KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY GEARING UP FOR FIRST ‘DERBY DAY’

 The men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., are gearing up for their First Tampa Derby Day Party. The event will be held on Saturday, May7^th, 4-10 p. m. at Pepin Hospitality Centre. The Kentucky Derby-themed event will feature red carpet entry, horse racing, bow ties, hats, bourbon, cigars and a live band. SWEARING-IN CEREMONY HELD FOR TAMPA’S CHIEF OF POLICE

The swearing-in ceremony for Tampa’s Chief of Police was held on Friday, March 25, 2022. Family members and friends witnessed the event for Chief Mary O’Connor. Tampa residents joined candidate Charlie Crist at a reception this week. Crist, a U. S. Representative (District 13), is a candidate for Florida Governor. Congresswoman Kathy Castor added the names of 4 citizens of Hillsborough County into the Congressional Records in Washington, D. C. Congresswoman Castor hosted her annual Black History Month Program on February 25, 2022, in the auditorium of Middleton Senior High School. The honorees and a guest are shown with Rep. Castor. Hillsborough Community College hosted the 15^th Annual Black, Brown, And College Bound Summit. The event was held March 2-5, 2022, at the Tampa Convention Center.
