DENVER, CO – Rosa Linda’s Mexican Cafe in Denver, Colo., says it has received death threats after it refused to host a Mitt Romney event.

Oscar Aguirre, who runs cafe, said that he has received more than 500 emails and non-stop phone calls after news broke that his cafe refused Romney’s request to host a political function there.

“They say, ‘I know where you live. I’m going to get you. Watch your back,’” Aguirre said, repeating one of the threats he said was made against him.

Aguirre’s parents, the owners of the restaurant, said that they refused the request because they are not Republicans and would have also denied a request from President.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials in San Antonio, Texas have arrested a woman after she allegedly struck a 10-year-old-girl who refused to share ice cream with her four-year-old daughter.

According to Bexar County Sheriff Deputies, 29-year-old Talysa Herron chased the girl down and struck her in the face after Herron’s daughter asked the girl for her ice cream and she refused.

Herron then followed the girl home by car. There, the girl’s mother, Cyndi Lafontaine, confronted Herron, who proceeded to assault her until someone called the police.

Herron is charged with injuring a child and is being held on $15,000 bond.

Crockfords, Britain’s oldest casino, is refusing to pay the world’s top poker player his $11.7 million win until they’ve completed an investigation of his game.

Phil Ivey, a California native, hit a two-night winning streak at the private Mayfair gaming club. He was playing Punto Banco, a variation of the card game baccarat.

The casino agreed to pay the winnings into his bank account, but six weeks later Ivey has only received a refund of his $1 million stake.

The casino immediately launched an investigation after Ivey left the club. Investigators interviewed everyone who was working during the two nights Ivey played and they examined hours of film from surveillance cameras, ten of which were in the room he played in.

Suspicions about the game increased after the casino discovered Ivey’s female companion, who sat at his side while he played, had recently had her membership at another Mayfair casino suspended.

NEW YORK – Nearly two dozen Good Samaritans rushed to rescue a woman and her two toddler grandchildren when they were run over by an elderly driver in a busy section of Brooklyn Friday afternoon, authorities and witnesses said.

The 77-year-old driver was backing up on Moore Street in Bushwick when he hit the grandmother, identified as Elizabeth Castillo, and the toddlers, who were in strollers, according to witnesses. The driver seemed to panic when he felt the impact and hit the gas pedal, further reversing the car up on the sidewalk and through a chain-link fence.

Bystanders quickly rushed to the victims’ aid and gathered around the car that had pinned Castillo and the children, 3-year-old Tyrese and 17-month-old Tashia.

Castillo suffered a broken collarbone, and Tashia had a broken arm, according to family. Both children received cuts.

The mother who shot her four children and herself dead at her Port St. John, Fla., home on May 15 had two times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

For reasons unknown to family and friends, Tonya Thomas, 33, used a Taurus .38-caliber revolver to fire shots into her children Joel Johnson, 12, Jazzlyn Johnson, 13, Jaxs Johnson, 15, and Pebbles Johnson, 17, before killing herself within a 35 minute period.

During that time, three of Thomas’ children ran to a neighbor’s house before the mother called them back home, according to police. Though, an autopsy report states that Pebbles likely passed out after returning.

Thomas was found dead on her couch from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The gun was still in her hand when cops found her.

There is an old saying that goes: “All Republicans aren’t racists; but all racists are Republicans.” This might be an exaggeration of facts, but Republican legislator from Arkansas, Jon Hubbard, certainly adds fuel to the flame.

In a book overflowing with bigoted statements, “Letters to the Editor: Confessions of a Frustrated Conservative,” Hubbard makes some startlingly ignorant claims about Black and Hispanic Americans, including predicting there will eventually be a race extermination war like Nazi Germany.

Slavery was good for black people:
“… the institution of slavery that the black race has long believed to be an abomination upon its people may actually have been a blessing in disguise. The blacks who could endure those conditions and circumstances would someday be rewarded with citizenship in the greatest nation ever established upon the face of the Earth.” If you think slavery was bad, you should have seen Africa.

African Americans must “understand that even while in the throes of slavery, their lives as Americans are likely much better than they ever would have enjoyed living in sub-Saharan Africa.”“Knowing what we know today about life on the African continent, would an existence spent in slavery have been any crueler than a life spent in sub-Saharan Africa?”

Black people are ignorant:
“Wouldn’t life for blacks in America today be more enjoyable and successful if they would only learn to appreciate the value of a good education?”

Army reservist Noel Polanco shot dead by NYPD officers early Thursday after they pulled him over on the highway near LaGuardia Airport, the New York Daily News reports.

Polanco was not armed and no gun was found in his car. Just a four-volt Ryobi power drill he used at the local Honda dealership where he worked.

“What’s so bad about a drill?” Polanco’s mom, Cecilia Reyes, told the Daily News. “What could he have done with a drill, honestly?”

The tragic shooting took place Thursday morning when police pulled him over because they claim that he was driving erratically and refused to stop. The two Emergency Service Unit vehicles that were chasing him were unmarked. Polanco was driving co-worker Diane DeFerrari and an off-duty NYPD officer, Vanessa Rodriguez, home at the time his car was stopped.

When the chase ended, cops allegedly asked everyone in the car to put their hands up. The cop who fired the deadly bullet, identified by the Daily News as Detective Hassan Hamdy, shot Polanco through an open window on the passenger side.

DeFerrari told the newspaper that cops killed Polanco in an act of “pure road rage” because he cut them off on the road.

YORK COUNTY, SC –  Inmate Lamarcus Williamson recently earned himself additional time to an already daunting prison sentence after assaulting his public defender in the courtroom. Williamson, 30, was so disenchanted with the 15 year bid he just received—that after pleading guilty to robbery, assault and drug charges—he surprised those in attendance by delivering the fade to his court appointed lawyer, Dan Hall.

“Next thing I knew, I felt a blow to my mouth and I hit the floor,” said Hall recollecting. Luckily for the lawyer, constables saw that Williamson was exhibiting volatile behavior, and were there to stop the criminal from doing further damage to Hall.

An additional six months were tacked on to Williamson’s sentence for contempt of court after the incident, and the criminal may also face assault charges. See NBC Charlotte’s report on the incident below.

MILWAUKEE, WI – Back in July of 2011, Derek Walker was struggling to breathe while in the back of a Milwaukee police vehicle and pleaded with cops to help him. But cops did noting to aide the man whom they arrested on suspicion of robbery.

He died in the car minutes later.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that it took ten months of negotiations and requests to secure the dashcam video of Walker’s final moments. The newspaper published the video on their website on Sept. 23.

City officials from the fire, police and prosecutors offices reviewed the video months ago and determined the cops did nothing wrong. Walker’s death was ruled a natural death until a Journal-Sentinel investigation prompted the medical examiner’s office to change that ruling to a homicide.

At a news conference last week, Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn said the officers “missed signals that Williams was in distress.” Chief Flynn said Walker’s death was a result of a training issue.
