Clarence Thomas Couldn’t Cover $267,000 For An RV, But Wanted Patients To Pay Out Of Pocket For Life-Saving Care

Clarence Thomas

The corruption allegations against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas are only getting worse after a review discovered last week that the RV-loving, yacht-riding, jet-setting judge did not recuse himself from a 2004 health insurance case despite a clear conflict of interest.

In 1999, Thomas took a $267,230 loan from health insurance executive Anthony Welters to buy a motor coach, a term he will defend more vehemently than the well-being of the nation’s populace. Welters was CEO of AmeriChoice when he gave Thomas the loan. The executive claims it was just money given to a friend… who happened to serve on the Supreme Court when they met. The HMO would be acquired by UnitedHealth in 2002, where he remained an executive. While Justice Thomas recused himself from two cases involving UnitedHealth, Rolling Stone found that not only he participated in a case but he also wrote the court’s unanimous decision.

Aetna Health Inc. v. Davila, the 2004 case in question, confirmed that insurers couldn’t be held liable for malpractice when the health plan denies life-saving or medically necessary treatment. While UnitedHealth wasn’t a named party in the case, the decision had massive ramifications for the entire healthcare industry.

Judge Dismisses Trump’s Classified Documents Indictment

Judge Dismisses Trump’s Classified Documents Indictment

Judge Aileen Cannon

Classified documents

Judge Aileen Cannon ruled that the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith was unconstitutional.

A federal judge has dismissed former President Donald Trump’s indictment in his classified documents case, finding that the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland was unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon said in a ruling issued Monday that the appointment of Smith to prosecute the case ? which focuses on Trump’s retention of classified government documents after leaving the White House ? violates the appointments clause of the U.S. Constitution.

That clause gives Congress “a pivotal role” in appointing certain government positions, which “cannot be usurped by the Executive Branch or diffused elsewhere — whether in this case or another case, whether in times of heightened national need or not,” Cannon wrote.

President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was also prosecuted by a special counsel, prompting immediate speculationfrom political pundits that his case could likewise be dismissed based on Cannon’s ruling.

Peter Carr, a spokesperson for Smith’s office, told HuffPost in a statement that the Justice Department has authorized the special counsel to appeal Cannon’s order.

“The dismissal of the case deviates from the uniform conclusion of all previous courts to have considered the issue that the Attorney General is statutorily authorized to appoint a Special Counsel,” Carr said.

Trump quickly celebrated Cannon’s decision in a social media post that called for all legal cases against him to be dismiss

President Biden Tells Democrats He's Not Leaving The Race, And It's Time To Stop Talking About It

President Biden Tells Democrats He’s Not Leaving The Race, And It’s Time To Stop Talking About It

President Joe Biden

President Biden sent a two-page letter to Democratic lawmakers on Monday to say that “I am firmly committed to staying in this race,” saying speculation over his future was helping former President Donald Trump — and that it was time to stop.

“The question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now. And it’s time for it to end. We have one job,” Biden said.

Biden, 81, has been insistent that he would continue his campaign even after he badly faltered in a debate with Trump — a performance that alarmed Democrats worried about his ability to run, win and govern. He has said he had a cold and jet lag, and has been working since to try to demonstrate he is still up to the job.

On Monday morning, he made an unusual live call in to MSNBC’s Morning Joe and angrily defended his electoral and policy record. He angrily expressed his frustration with the Democrats who are questioning his stamina.

“I’m not going to explain anymore about what I should or shouldn’t do — I am running,” Biden said during the 20-minute conversation with the show’s hosts.

“I don’t care what those ‘big names’ think. They were wrong in 2020, they were wrong in 2022 about the red wave. They’re wrong in 2024,” Biden said.

‘Some Folks Need Killing’ – North Carolina’s Lunatic Lt. Governor Mark Robinson Faces Backlash

‘Some Folks Need Killing’ – North Carolina’s Lunatic Lt. Governor Mark Robinson Faces Backlash

Lieutenant Governor, Mark Robinson

North Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor,

Folks, here’s some news you NEED to know about. As he should be, North Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor, Mark Robinson, is embroiled in controversy following a provocative speech at Lake Church in White Lake, North Carolina, on June 30. A clip from the event has been circulating online, in which Robinson, a staunch MAGA Republican and gubernatorial candidate endorsed by former President Donald Trump, can be heard saying “Some folks need killing.”

The video shows Robinson discussing the importance of Independence Day and emphasizing the need to protect freedom “at all cost.” His comments quickly drew ire, particularly when he mentioned that there exist people in the nation who care only about control, without regard for political affiliation.

“Folks, you see, there’s a class of people in this nation that want you to forget that,” Robinson proclaimed. “They want control. They don’t care about Democrats, they don’t care about Republicans, they don’t care about anything. They care about control.”

Robinson compared the current state of the nation to the U.S. military’s actions during World War II, referencing the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan in December 1941. He stated, “We didn’t quibble about it. We didn’t argue about it. We didn’t fight about it. We killed it.”

The most incendiary part of his speech came shortly after, where he dismissed potential backlash from “some liberal somewhere,” who might find his words offensive, Newsweek reports.

“Too bad,” he said. “Get mad at me if you want to. Some folks need killing. It’s time for somebody to say it. It’s not a matter of vengeance. It’s not a matter of being mean or spiteful. It’s a matter of necessity.”

Paramount Reportedly In Talks To Sell BET For $1.6B To 'Buyers That Include' Its CEO Scott Mills

Paramount Reportedly In Talks To Sell BET For $1.6B To ‘Buyers That Include’ Its CEO Scott Mills

Scott Mills, President and CEO of BET Media Group

Paramount Global is reportedly putting BET on the market again, but this time for a price ranging between $1.6-1.7 billion.

Per Variety, the exclusive price will be offered to “buyers that include” BET CEO Scott Mills and others.

Mills joined BET in 1997 as senior VP of business development, before leading the company in 2018 and becoming CEO in 2021. He’s also led its Centric channel as COO and served as president of digital media. The 55-year-old has also held down the role of EVP and oversaw the launch of BET’s official website in the early 2000s.

In the past, Tyler PerrySean “Diddy” Combs, and Byron Allen were all prospective bidders of the longstanding Black Entertainment Television network. In 2023, Allen offered $3.5 billion for the network.

However, Paramount withdrew BET from the market in August of last year because, “a sale wouldn’t result in any meaningful deleveraging of its balance sheet,” according to Wall Street Journal. A source from Paramount also told New York Post, “We made this decision because the benefits of maintaining a majority stake in BET Media Group creates more value for Paramount than any of the proposals we received.”

Now, Paramount Global’s Co-CEO’s have given BET a new appeal for acquisition which has included asset sales, streaming partnerships, and unfortunately job cuts.

In addition of sales, Paramount sold its CBS’ New York headquarters for $760,000,000 million in 2021, as well as the CBS Studio Center lot for $1.85 billion. Additionally, Paramount Global sold Simon & Schuster for $1.62 billion to private equity firm KKR last October.

Playing In Our Faces: Donald Trump Tries To Distance Himself From #Project2025 Backlash — 'I Know Nothing'

Playing In Our Faces: Donald Trump Tries To Distance Himself From #Project2025 Backlash — ‘I Know Nothing’

Donald Trump

Donald Trump questionably claims he’s an expert on everything else, but now he expects us to believe he has “no knowledge” of Project 2025 and its oppressive plans to give him unprecedented power as president. After the plan, directed by Trump’s former chief of staff, exploded online, that would make him the last person in the country to hear about it.

In his Philly campaign rally speech, Trump stated, “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying, and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.”

Project 2025: The Drastic Plan Trump “Doesn’t Know About”

Let’s break down what Trump is desperately trying to distance himself from. Project 2025 is a

922-page plan that proposes a massive expansion of presidential power. The project includes but isn’t limited to:

firing up to 50,000 government workers to replace them with Trump loyalists (JUST SICK)

National abortions ban

Birth control, IVF, and STD Testing restrictions

Patient Data exposure

Eliminating the Department of Education and free school lunch programs

Enforcing Christian principles

Removing Environmental Protection Agency and protections for endangered species

Implementing tax policies that benefit the wealthy

Weaken unions and workplace safety regulations

End FBI efforts to combat disinformation

Repeal Acts for Civil Rights, Voting Rights, Fair Housing

End gender equality protections

Getting rid of DEI workers and training programs

Criminalizing LGBTQ+ rights and homelessness

Using the U.S. military against the U.S. citizens

Yet Trump would have us believe he’s completely in the dark about it. It’s hard to swallow, especially given his past authoritarian actions and statements.

The Social Media Firestorm

What’s really pushed Trump into this awkward denial is the social media uproar. Project 2025 has been trending online and on television screens. As BOSSIP previously covered, celebrities such as Taraji P. Henson are taking part in the activism against it.

Trump’s Ties to Project 2025 Figures

The key players behind Project 2025 are all Trump insiders:

Paul Dans, the project’s director, was a former chief of staff at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management under Trump.

John McEntee, a senior adviser, was the director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.

Russ Vought, a significant contributor, is on the Republican National Committee’s platform writing committee.

Gov. Wes Moore Says 'I Will' Not Seek 2024 Democratic Nomination And Says President Biden Isn't Dropping Out

Gov. Wes Moore Says ‘I Will’ Not Seek 2024 Democratic Nomination And Says President Biden Isn’t Dropping Out

Gov. Wes Moore

Washington — Maryland Gov. Wes Moore last Sunday that he will not seek the Democratic nomination this year and he does not foresee President Biden leaving the race, making clear that the president is staying the course despite the bruising debate performance that sparked concern among some members of the party last week.

“Joe Biden is not going to take himself out of this race – nor should he,” Moore said on
“Face the Nation,” making clear that he “will not” seek the nomination.

The Democratic governor, who’s been campaigning in Milwaukee for the president’s reelection bid, said he will “proudly be supporting the president” at the party’s convention in Chicago later this summer. Moore said he will work through November to “make sure [Mr. Biden] gets reelected,” despite suggestions in recent days that the president drop out of the race after the debate raised questions about his ability to serve. Moore, a rising star within the party, has been among a group of names floated should Biden leave the race.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Monday signed an executive order pardoning more than 175,000 marijuana convictions, the governor’s office said.

Moore signed the executive order in Annapolis with state Attorney General Anthony Brown in attendance.

An estimated 100,000 individuals will be affected by the pardons, the governor’s office said in a press call Monday morning.

The pardons include more than 150,000 misdemeanor convictions for simple possession of cannabis and more than 18,000 misdemeanor convictions for use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, his office said.

The pardons reflect the number of convictions, with some individuals having more than one conviction pardoned through the executive order, the governor’s office said.

The executive order makes Maryland the first state in the U.S. to issue mass pardons on cannabis paraphernalia-related convictions, the governor’s office said. The state legalized recreational marijuana in 2023 after the passage of a constitutional amendment during the state’s 2022 legislative session.

Biden Campaign Raises $30M At Star-Studded Fundraiser

Biden Campaign Raises $30M At Star-Studded Fundraiser

President Joe Biden speaks during a campaign event with former President Barack Obama moderated by Jimmy Kimmel at the Peacock Theater, Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Los Angeles.

President Biden’s Hollywood fundraiser raked in $30 million over the past weekend for his reelection bid, the most of any Democratic fundraiser in history, according to the Biden campaign.

Biden was joined at the fundraiser Saturday by former President Obama, actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

The president in his remarks warned against a second term for former President Trump and focused on the Supreme Court and his recent trip to Italy for the Group of Seven (G7) summit.

“The next president is likely to have two new Supreme Court nominees,” Biden said, repeating a prediction he has made before.

“The idea that if he’s reelected he’s going to appoint two more flying flags upside down,” he added, referring to Justice Samuel Alito, who has faced controversy over an upside-down American flag flying over his Alexandra, Va., home.
