{"id":9993,"date":"2011-09-19T15:20:30","date_gmt":"2011-09-19T19:20:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=9993"},"modified":"2011-09-19T14:52:37","modified_gmt":"2011-09-19T18:52:37","slug":"damon-dash-bootlegging-charges-dismissed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=9993","title":{"rendered":"Damon Dash Bootlegging Charges Dismissed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dame Dash<\/strong> can breathe a little easier as his &#8220;bootlegging&#8221; charges have been put to rest.<\/p>\n<p>A Manhattan judge agreed to settle the restraining order that was placed on 172 Duane Street, the building that housed his DD172\u00a0 studio\/building,\u00a0 after claims that the property&#8217;s owners and <strong>Damon Dash\u00a0<\/strong> were selling and distributing alcohol without a license.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Judge Cynthia S. Kern<\/strong> signed a stipulation settling the matter as long as 172 Duane Street Realty abides by the liquor laws in the future and agrees to provide security guards when holding events, agrees to warrantless inspections by police, and abide by their certificate of occupancy.<\/p>\n<p>Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder and his associates are catching heat for running an unlicensed club called DD172 in New York City, and have been served with six counts of storing and selling alcohol without a license.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dash<\/strong> reportedly moved out of the space in New York&#8217;s Tribeca neighborhood in June, but were first hit for violating the liquor code this past May and in November 2010.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dash&#8217;s<\/strong> lawyer <strong>Joshua Seidman<\/strong> said that the city had never served his client any papers and that \u201cselling liquor was never a part of the business model of that location.\u201d If <strong>Dash<\/strong> had still been the tenant at the time the city served the papers, there would have been more of a chance of his having to pay fines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dame Dash can breathe a little easier as his &#8220;bootlegging&#8221; charges have been put to rest.
