{"id":8968,"date":"2011-08-08T16:06:00","date_gmt":"2011-08-08T20:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8968"},"modified":"2011-08-08T15:39:18","modified_gmt":"2011-08-08T19:39:18","slug":"judge-refuses-to-delay-kevin-white-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8968","title":{"rendered":"Judge Refuses To Delay Kevin White Trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Wednesday, a federal judge said no to a request by former Hillsborough County Commissioner <strong>Kevin White<\/strong> and his co-defendant, <strong>George Hondrellis<\/strong>, to move their September 26th trial to a later date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>White<\/strong> and <strong>Hondrellis<\/strong> face charges including bribery and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. <strong>White<\/strong> is also charged with lying to an FBI agent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8970\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/George-Hondellis.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8970\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-8970\" src=\"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/George-Hondellis-150x150.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-8970\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">GEORGE HONDRELLIS<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Authorities have said <strong>White<\/strong> solicited bribes from <strong>Hondrellis<\/strong>, who owns a towing company, in exchange for help in getting his company on a list used by law enforcement agencies. <strong>White<\/strong> is the former chairman of the county\u2019s Public Transportation Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The motion to delay the trial was made by <strong>Hondrellis\u2019<\/strong> attorney, but <strong>White<\/strong> later joined the request.<\/p>\n<p>The request was made by the defense teams who said they were having technical challenges in downloading 169 tapes that investigators said support their charges against both men.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last Wednesday, a federal judge said no to a request by former Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin White and his co-defendant, George Hondrellis, to move their September 26th trial to a later date.
