{"id":8805,"date":"2011-07-28T15:38:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-28T19:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8805"},"modified":"2011-07-28T13:47:33","modified_gmt":"2011-07-28T17:47:33","slug":"t-pain-battles-autotune-makers-in-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8805","title":{"rendered":"T-Pain Battles Autotune Makers  In Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>T\u2013Pain<\/strong> and Antares Technologies has ended in a lawsuit over the rapper\/producer&#8217;s association with the company&#8217;s popular \u201cAutotune\u201d affect.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper, who used to officially endorse Antares&#8217; auto-tune effect, ended his deal with the company in June and formed a new company with Izotope, to promote his own line of &#8220;<strong>T-Pain<\/strong>&#8221; audio effects.<\/p>\n<p>Now, <strong>T-Pain<\/strong> filed a lawsuit in United States District Court of Northern District of California, claiming that Antares continues to use his image and likeness in advertisements, packaging and marketing materials for Antares&#8217; rival products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>T-Pain<\/strong>, born <strong>Faheem Najm<\/strong>, claims that the audio company without his permission has also licensed his name and image to third parties to endorse their own products.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to at least $1 million in damages, <strong>T-Pain<\/strong> is seeking an injunction prohibiting Antares from using his name image, likeness, photograph, voice or anything else connecting him to Antares&#8217; competing &#8220;Autotune&#8221; products.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>T\u2013Pain and Antares Technologies has ended in a lawsuit over the rapper\/producer&#8217;s association with the company&#8217;s popular \u201cAutotune\u201d affect.
