{"id":8747,"date":"2011-07-25T16:08:55","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T20:08:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8747"},"modified":"2011-07-25T15:37:12","modified_gmt":"2011-07-25T19:37:12","slug":"nfl-star-charged-with-violently-beating-roommate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8747","title":{"rendered":"NFL Star Charged With Violently Beating Roommate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cincinnati Bengals running back <strong>Cedric Benson<\/strong> has been charged with the violent beating of his ex-roommate <strong>Clavens Charles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Last week in Texas, <strong>Charles<\/strong> and the locked out football player got into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. <strong>Benson<\/strong> allegedly punched<strong> Charles<\/strong> in the face several times, \u201cresulting in severe injury to his face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by <strong>Benson\u2019s<\/strong> attorney charges that <strong>Charles<\/strong> is using the incident to extort their client, claiming that the NFL running back was provoked.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles\u2019<\/strong> attorneys deny those claims saying the beating <strong>Charles<\/strong> took at the hands of <strong>Benson<\/strong> was \u201can unprovoked, violent assault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles\u2019<\/strong> camp reports thousands of dollars in medical bills because of his injuries. <strong>Benson<\/strong> had been charged with misdemeanor assault<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson has been charged with the violent beating of his ex-roommate Clavens Charles.
