{"id":8636,"date":"2011-07-21T15:52:33","date_gmt":"2011-07-21T19:52:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8636"},"modified":"2011-07-21T13:00:25","modified_gmt":"2011-07-21T17:00:25","slug":"tiger-woods-dumps-longtime-caddy-after-13-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=8636","title":{"rendered":"Tiger Woods Dumps Longtime Caddy  After 13 Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tiger Woods<\/strong> has ended one of his longest relationships: With his caddie of 13 years, <strong>Steve Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming what many golf fans have suspected for months, <strong>Woods<\/strong> said in a statement on his website Wednesday: &#8220;I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it&#8217;s time for a change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Williams<\/strong> worked with <strong>Woods<\/strong>, 35, as he racked up 13 of his 14 big-time championships. He has been working with another pro, <strong>Adam Scott,<\/strong> since <strong>Woods&#8217;<\/strong> recent injury took him out of the sport. &#8220;<strong>Stevie<\/strong> is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>Williams<\/strong> &#8212; who stood by <strong>Woods<\/strong> during his disastrous 2009 adultery scandal and 2010 divorce &#8212; wasn&#8217;t exactly pleased with the news.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock,&#8221; <strong>Williams<\/strong> wrote on his own website. &#8220;Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through <strong>Tiger&#8217;s<\/strong> scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and <strong>Tiger<\/strong> battling through injuries I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time.
