The organization was founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University. The women gathered at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church for the 11 a. m. worship experience. The Pastor, Reverend Larry L. Roundtree, II, delivered the message. The ladies shared lunch at a local restaurant after the service.
