The jury also ruled<strong> Frye<\/strong> slandered<strong> Beason<\/strong> and awarded <strong>Beason<\/strong> $1 in damages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was fair. It&#8217;s been a long time coming, almost two years,\u201d<strong> Beason<\/strong> said outside the Mecklenburg County Courthouse. \u201cThe thing for us people in the public eye, once somebody says something, a percentage of people are going to believe it.
