{"id":6806,"date":"2011-05-19T15:24:27","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T19:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=6806"},"modified":"2011-05-19T15:00:50","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T19:00:50","slug":"bucs-decline-hbos-hard-knocks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=6806","title":{"rendered":"Bucs Decline HBO&#8217;s Hard Knocks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TAMPA, Fla. &#8212; The Buccaneers have said no to HBO.<\/p>\n<p>Tampa Bay has declined an invitation to be featured on the cable TV network&#8217;s next edition of \u201cHard Knocks,\u201d the team said on its Twitter account Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have respectfully declined this year&#8217;s \u2018Hard Knocks\u2019 invitation,&#8221; the team announced. &#8220;Wonderful show, but the team wants to keep the focus on the field in 2011.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tampa Bay went from 3-13 in 2009 to 10-6 last season and has a strong core of young players led by quarterback Josh Freeman, receiver <strong>Mike Williams<\/strong> and defensive tackle <strong>Gerald McCoy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHard Knocks\u201d won three Sports Emmys for its portrayal of the New York Jets in last year&#8217;s series. The show has been on the air intermittently since its debut in 2001 with the Baltimore Ravens.<\/p>\n<p>In subsequent years, the Dallas Cowboys (2002 and 2008), Kansas City Chiefs (2007), Cincinnati Bengals (2009) and Jets have been spotlighted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinding and selecting a team for \u2018Hard Knocks\u2019 each year is a process,&#8221; HBO spokesman <strong>Ray Stallone<\/strong> said. &#8220;We remain optimistic.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TAMPA, Fla. &#8212; The Buccaneers have said no to HBO.
