{"id":6272,"date":"2011-05-02T16:38:25","date_gmt":"2011-05-02T20:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=6272"},"modified":"2011-05-02T16:38:25","modified_gmt":"2011-05-02T20:38:25","slug":"serena-venus-williams-mum-on-when-they%e2%80%99ll-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=6272","title":{"rendered":"Serena, Venus Williams Mum On When They\u2019ll Return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON \u2014 <strong>Serena<\/strong> and <strong>Venus Williams<\/strong> aren\u2019t ready to tell the world when they will return to the tennis tour.<\/p>\n<p>The sisters, who own a combined 20 Grand Slam singles titles, declined to say on Thursday when they will compete next.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Venus<\/strong> hasn\u2019t played since January because of a hip injury; Serena has been out since July after two foot operations, then blood clots in her lung.<\/p>\n<p>They were on adjacent courts on Thursday, offering coaching tips and playing points against kids aged 7 to 17 during a 45-minute clinic to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.<\/p>\n<p>The next major is the French Open, which starts on May 22.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great event, and we definitely want to be there,\u201d <strong>Venus<\/strong> said. \u201cWe just take it week by week, evaluating, and the good part is we both get better every week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both sisters moved around the court without any visible hitches on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Their connection to the center dates to before the $5.1 million facility was built, when former Washington D.C. first lady <strong>Cora Masters Barry<\/strong>, the center\u2019s CEO, spoke to the <strong>Williams\u2019<\/strong> mother about plans for the center.
