{"id":5559,"date":"2011-04-13T16:21:45","date_gmt":"2011-04-13T20:21:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=5559"},"modified":"2011-04-13T16:22:38","modified_gmt":"2011-04-13T20:22:38","slug":"actress-endows-theatre-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=5559","title":{"rendered":"Actress Endows Theatre Scholar- ship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>T&#8217;Keyah Crystal Keymah<\/strong>, a Florida A&amp;M alumna who found success in Hollywood, has donated $150,000 to the University to establish an endowed scholarship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Keym\u00e1h<\/strong> is most known from her television roles as an original cast member of the Fox sketch comedy series <em>In Living Color<\/em>, she is perhaps best known for her roles as<strong> <em>Erica Lucas<\/em><\/strong> on the CBS sitcom <em>Cosby<\/em>, and as <em><strong>Tanya Baxter<\/strong><\/em> on the Disney Channel sitcom <em>That&#8217;s So Raven<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She was a National Merit Scholar and was recruited to FAMU&#8217;s School of Business and Industry, before finding her love in FAMU&#8217;s Essential<br \/>\nTheatre. The actress says she struggled to make ends meet as a theater major and now she wants to pave the way for other aspiring actors at FAMU.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a sacrifice,\u201d said <strong>Keym\u00e1h<\/strong>, \u201cIf every graduate takes care of one student that would be a phenomenal thing and that&#8217;s what I would like to ask all of the alumni to do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The FAMU College of Arts and Sciences recently enshrined <strong>Keym\u00e1h<\/strong> and several other alums into its \u201cGallery of Distinction.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>T&#8217;Keyah Crystal Keymah, a Florida A&amp;M alumna who found success in Hollywood, has donated $150,000 to the University to establish an endowed scholarship.
