Night Shyamalan&#8217;s<\/strong> untitled science fiction adventure film with Columbia Pictures, the studio announced.<\/p>\n<p>The film will take place 1,000-years in the future and follow a young boy (Jaden) as he searches the abandoned planet Earth, looking for his estranged father (<strong>Will<\/strong>) after their ship crashes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shyamalan<\/strong> wrote the script with <strong>Gary Whitta<\/strong> (&#8220;Book of Eli&#8221;) which was previously announced as being named &#8220;One Thousand A.E.,&#8221; though details on the project have been kept tight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring <strong>Jaden<\/strong> and <strong>Will <\/strong>is my dream project,&#8221; <strong>Shyamalan<\/strong> said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shymalan <\/strong>and <strong>Will Smith<\/strong> will also produce the film with <strong>James Lassiter<\/strong>, <strong>Jada Pinkett Smith<\/strong> and <strong>Ken Stovitz<\/strong>, who are<strong> Smith&#8217;s<\/strong> partners at Overbrook Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jaden<\/strong>, 12, made his screen debut with his father <strong>Will Smith<\/strong> in 2006&#8217;s &#8220;The Pursuit of Happyness.&#8221; He has since starred in the blockbuster remake of &#8220;The Karate Kid,&#8221; which took in over $350 million worldwide. <strong>Jaden<\/strong> also starred opposite<strong> Keanu Reeves <\/strong>and <strong>Jennifer Connelly<\/strong> in &#8220;The Day the Earth Stood Still.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Will Smith and Jaden Smith have signed on to co-star in M.
