{"id":5277,"date":"2011-04-04T17:07:03","date_gmt":"2011-04-04T21:07:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=5277"},"modified":"2011-04-05T12:46:33","modified_gmt":"2011-04-05T16:46:33","slug":"progress-village-resident-says-damage-is-tremendous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=5277","title":{"rendered":"Progress Village Resident Says Damage Is Immense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Hilrie Kemp, Jr<\/strong>. <strong>(<em>right<\/em>)<\/strong>, President Emeritus of the Progress Village Civic Council said the storms that roared through their community on Thursday left tremendous damage.<\/p>\n<p>However, he is thankful that through it all, no injuries have been reported and there was no loss of life.<\/p>\n<p>The storms ripped trees from the ground, tore roofs from home, created localized flooding, and left some homes uninhabitable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of these homes were hit pretty hard. I have heard that one lady got into the bathtub to protect herself as part of her roof was taken off. Another lady had just moved when her roof collapsed. But, there have been a lot of people coming out to help us and we are grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hillsborough County Commissioner <strong>Les Miller, Jr<\/strong>., visited the area on Thursday. \u201cIt was unbelievable the way neighbors were coming out helping neighbors. There were just so many different organizations out there doing what they could to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Commissioner Miller<\/strong> said donations can be made payable to the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners and the words Progress Village Relief should be printed on the memo line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hilrie Kemp, Jr. (right), President Emeritus of the Progress Village Civic Council said the storms that roared through their community on Thursday left tremendous damage.
