{"id":4729,"date":"2011-03-21T16:01:24","date_gmt":"2011-03-21T20:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4729"},"modified":"2011-03-21T16:03:21","modified_gmt":"2011-03-21T20:03:21","slug":"hart-board-places-ceo-on-leave-amid-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4729","title":{"rendered":"HART Board Places CEO On Leave Amid Investi-gation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BY TAMECA JOHNSON<br \/>\nFreelance Writer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Executive Officer of Hillsborough Area Regional Transit is on two weeks paid administration leave.\u00a0 HART\u2019s Board of Directors made the decision during a special Board meeting Monday morning.\u00a0 At issue are allegations of wrongdoing by the agency\u2019s CEO <strong>David Armijo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Labor and Employment Law Firm Ford and Harrison, LLP, is conducting the probe.\u00a0 It\u2019s a nationally recognized firm with locations across the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attorney Dawn Siler-Nixon<\/strong> is overseeing the investigation and spoke on the firm\u2019s behalf at the Board meeting.\u00a0 She says the investigation involves allegations that <strong>Armijo<\/strong> improperly used government funds while running the agency and he was \u201cperceived to retaliate\u201d against employees who spoke out against his actions.<\/p>\n<p>She was initially given three complaints, but says she\u2019s received numerous others after the investigation got underway.\u00a0 <strong>Siler-Nixon<\/strong> also confirms she\u2019s received documentation that helps substantiate the claims, but told Board members the firm needed more time to investigate their authenticity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BY TAMECA JOHNSON Freelance Writer The Chief Executive Officer of Hillsborough Area Regional Transit is on two weeks paid administration leave.\u00a0 HART\u2019s Board of Directors made the decision during a special Board meeting Monday morning.\u00a0 At issue are allegations of wrongdoing by the agency\u2019s CEO David Armijo.
