{"id":4378,"date":"2011-03-10T21:43:44","date_gmt":"2011-03-11T02:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4378"},"modified":"2011-03-10T21:43:44","modified_gmt":"2011-03-11T02:43:44","slug":"copyright-lawsuit-against-kanye-wests-%e2%80%9cstronger%e2%80%9d-dismissed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4378","title":{"rendered":"Copyright Lawsuit Against Kanye West&#8217;s \u201cStronger\u201d Dismissed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A copyright lawsuit filed against <strong>Kanye West<\/strong> for his single \u201cStronger\u201d has officially been dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, <strong>Ye<\/strong> was sued by Songwriter <strong>Vincent \u201cVince P\u201d Peters<\/strong> for stealing his original song under the same name and profiting from it.<\/p>\n<p>According to <strong>Peters<\/strong>, he gave a copy of the track to <strong>Kanye&#8217;s<\/strong> business manager<strong> John Monopoly<\/strong> in 2006 before it was featured on<strong> Ye&#8217;s<\/strong> Graduation album.<\/p>\n<p>Illinois Judge <strong>Virginia Kendall<\/strong> thought otherwise however, and threw out the case last week citing that the songs were not substantially similar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ye<\/strong> recently had another victory in court after reaching a settlement in an ongoing lawsuit filed by <strong>Suge Knight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A copyright lawsuit filed against Kanye West for his single \u201cStronger\u201d has officially been dismissed.
